Black Rock Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Tucson

I've been meaning to make this, but I'm not sure how ordering at the window vs the drive-thru is supposed to work, but I was 10mins late to work because of this recently.

I pulled in noticing how long the drive-thru was and parked to run up to the window to order. It took a minute for everyone to stop what they were doing to take my order, but once they did, I waited for my 3 drinks through 2-3 cycles of the drive-thru, and a doordash order being picked up until I got my order. I waited about 15mins and almost left without my drinks despite paying.

I know it gets busy, but I definitely ordered before a lot of the cars that pulled up, passed through, and left with their drinks. I only add this so some light can be shed on this, as this really isn't the first...

Coffee was good but the staff needs a bit of work/training on paying attention to customers. We had 3 people ordering coffee and they asked if it was separate orders or all together, I told them 'all together' but they rang up only one drink and said 'The first total is $$'. I asked why they can't ring them up together and the girl said 'Oh I thought they were separate', so she obviously didn't listen to the answer that they were together. Then when we arrived at the drive thru window to pick up the drinks they had made the wrong drink for one and had to make it again. The staff also seemed a bit 'blah', they weren't rude or anything but you could tell they don't...

This Black Rock Coffee location is apparently powered by one lone barista who moves faster than a caffeinated squirrel. My guy was like a coffee ninja—taking orders, brewing drinks, and somehow managing to crack jokes in between. It was like watching a live-action espresso-themed action movie.

Ordered a nitro cold brew, and not only did it come out perfect, but I’m pretty sure he summoned it with sheer willpower because he didn’t stop moving long enough to pour it. He deserves a raise, a cape, and maybe a clone to help him out.

Bottom line: the coffee was strong, but the barista was stronger. 10/10 would come back to witness this caffeine...
