This Mongolian BBQ is a nice gem of a place to find out in the city of tucson. Also location is in a decent part of town as well with other great places nearby to visit. Pricing here can range quickly with a group of people coming in, one bowl for an adult is 17.99 which i think is a bit much and should be more in the 15.00 range for what is offered. Food quality is the in form of taste are consider for the mongolian bbq bowls are fantastic. As for the soups they are a little off in terms of balance. The egg drop soup today was full of salt so beware of that if you are watching your Cholesterol. The hot n sour soup is great at first but if you eat more than one bowl it start to be overpowering. The vegetarian soup was surprising as it was more closely in taste to an Italian minestrone soup than one would think about an asian style vegetarian soup. The atmosphere was nice clean and maintained with some nice decor but i feel it could use some pictures of mongolia and also some plants would do well. Place is open floor and the customers looking around are generally happy and not making any bad faces towards their meals. The staff is absolutely friendly and customer service friendly. The cashier gave a fantastic suggestion when it came towards paying for meal to be more cost-effective. You don't see that a lot in today's world. Made me instantly want to come back! The serving staff and cooking staff were very prompt about their jobs and had great attitudes and were not rude at all. In short this is a great place to get a meal but there are only small areas which need some improvement

I’ve always loved building the bowl (or cramming it, as one of my colleagues says). I usually go vegetarian, skipping the frozen shaved beef, chicken, seafood. A few noodles, lots of green onions, loads of cilantro, spinach, cabbage, celery, onions, broccoli smothered in sauces… garlic, ginger, teriyaki & a bit of chili. It’s great — it’s your recipe. Served with hot sesame bread, soup (hot and sour) and rice (brown) it makes a satisfying lunch. Place is clean and well maintained — it is certainly _not_ dark & dingy as some reviewers have suggested. The griddle is well ventilated so the air is clean — you’re clothes won’t smell like a Five Guys when you leave. The owner/manager has been there since the days when they had another store on Tanque Verde. A nice and kind fellow, the staff in general are attentive and pleasant. They had Mix FM playing in the background. It’s December, so hark! Oh so many divas singing those worn out Christmas standards, but at least it wasn’t loud. Just one complaint: the price. Back in 2018 the bowl was $11.99 and included any of their proteins. Today that same bowl will run you $17.99, but if you want beef, that’ll be $19.99. That’s a 67% increase. I know we’ve seen food inflation spike as high as 11% in 2022, and between UberDash greed, labor costs and rent increases I suppose it isn’t easy for small restaurant owners, but still… 67%? Anyway, they run their business as they see fit, but for what they’re serving, they’re pricing themselves out of my budget.

Nice little place for Mongolian style eating. The door greeter showed us how to proceed thru the food line as we have not been there before. Had fun watching the cook stirring our food choices together on the cooking stone. A very friendly customer service from all the workers. No military discount thus the 4 stars fir service. The place is kind of bare inside, makes it look kind of cold for an Oriental restaraunt. The food was good and cooked very quickly so you can not waste time eating. Had quite a few customers coming in fir lunch including some other newbies like us lol. Price is good for the amount of food you can pile on your plate for the cook to cook.

Well since this was my first visit to the Mongolian Bar B Que I am very happy with the experience!! The staff were quite helpful, and I appreciated the extra time they gave us as we explained that we were new customers!! As you walk into this place, there is a row of like buffet lines, filled with a huge variety of mostly veggies, and a few non veggie choices! So they ask what kind of veggies you'd like, as well as in what quantity!! Next comes the components of the sauce and there are 5, no, maybe 6 different sauces! My girl had the teriaki flavor sauce and I had the sezwan ohh, hot ( spicy hot) yum yum then you proceede to the final area, and again in a display case you have the protein part of your meal! So, let's see, we've got our veggies, noodles, sauce components, and a ginormous amount of your choice of meat or a large helping of a a non- meat protein, like tofu, mixed with some other veggie material, though I'm sorry I don't know what else is mixed with the tofu!! Now you look a this bowl just crammed with food to overflowing and the server asks if you would like to add anything else? Gotta tell ya that I personally don't know how another single tiny piece of ANYTHING could be added to this bowl!! You are then directed towards the cashier. Who before taking any money from you asks if you'd prefer brown or white rice also handing you a piece of what looks kind of like a square piece of flour tortilla slightly crisp on the outside and firm but not hard!! Also the cashier asks about your drink preference and supplies the cup to drink from!! So as you walk to your choose table you can turn your head back twards the rear area of the restaurant, and you can see two really large things that kinda resemble a round table only you'll notice there's a fire roaring on below and as you watch a gentleman is using this " table top" and a very large pair of " chop sticks" to turn and in Fact cook your food Mongolian BBQ style!!So my girl had the chicken with teriaki sauce she said "delish" and I find myself agreeing with her though I had the pork!! Mmmmm!! So I'm saying if you'd want to try a bit of a different twist on Chinese food, then Mongolian Bar B Que is a great place to try something out of the ordinary! The price for the two of us was around $30 but honestly you do get your monies worth, in fact we both took some home because the portions are VERY generous!! It's on Broadway just west of Swan on the South side of the street in a small plaza there!! Be adventuresome and give them a try, I think you'll love it too!! Hey nice chattin' with you, thanks for listening!!!!...

I was a bit shocked to discover that this place does not actually want my business. They explained that after 4 pm, you are welcome to look at the menu ... but the one and only thing you're allowed to order is strictly the MOST expensive thing on the menu. (The All You Can Eat option). To be fair ,you could order other dishes, but take-out only. Still, that's a rather rude greeting: "Order the most expensive thing on the menu, or LEAVE ... your choice". Let's just say I felt unwelcome.

We decided that since we were already there, we'd go ahead and plop down $33 bucks per couple (without drinks, which cost extra). Although other reviews mention problems with food freshness or taste, we found the food to be good. However I did find that their sauces are all watered-down versions of the sauces you get at other Mongolian BBQ places around the country.

Our entrees were cooked well and served quickly. (As an aside, most Mongolian BBQ places encourage you to watch while your meal is prepared. This place specifically DISCOURAGES the practice. Again, not friendly to customer. Servers did keep checking on us politely.

During our entire time in the restaurant, some guy was on a ladder in the kitching, working on things (probably A/C ductwork) in the ceiling. I would have preferred (and there might even be a health department regulation about this) that they open up the ceiling and grope around in the dust and mites and goblins, but only AFTER the place is closed for business. I did not actually see any insulation fall out of the ceiling, bu tI can ASSURE you that IF anything fell out of the ceiling, it landed on MY meal and I probably ate it.

Overall it's an average (or slightly below average) Mongolian BBQ place, with an unfriendly and haughty atmosphere ... but their prices are simply TOO high ($15.49 per person ... that's TOO high). Their policies (you MUST order the most expensive menu option, or else we'll show you the door) struck me as unnecessary and also very customer-UN-friendly.

Except for the rude attitude, I would have rated them 4 stars. But seriously, there are SO MANY restaurants around the world which are OVERJOYED when you choose to dine at their place. It makes NO SENSE AT ALL to visit a place where customers are treated like an unwelcome nuisance. Tried it once. Will...
