Awe. ( Monterey Village) I was very disappointed. I ordered chow mien and dumplings. The chow mien was ok. But the dumplings were 8 bucks and they sucked! Obviously they were from a frozen bag. But these were small and pathetic dumplings :( . They were Jack n the box quality. I myself can make fantastic dumplings, but I was tired from work and I didn’t want to cook. So I got take out. Currently I am 41 years old, I worked there for year when I was 19 as a busboy (1998) and remember the food was better. The quality has gone down. I imagine the pandemic has pushed them against the wall, as a more vibrant Korea House next door is doing better. One can tell their spirit has been crushed over these 2 years and the pandemic was the nail in the coffin. I don’t know how they’re surviving. Their parking lot is empty on Friday night. I remember when I was a teen, their was plenty of business on a Friday night. Golden dragon is stagnant and still sporting a 1998 setting, no updates, no passion. No one smiles. Stuck in time. Very depressing. I think they’re on their way out. My Message to them is; open to full capacity! And just get back to normal and don’t be afraid. Regain some passion and spirit and (F) the pandemic, dont let it defeat you—unless you want to shut it down. Get some drink specials and rise up. I am sad for all these mom and pop shops that are having...
Read moreWe went to Golden Dragon in Christmas Day, we just arrived in town and there was a very limited selection of open restaurants. It looked busy but they seated us quickly, so we were hopeful. Once we were seated, we were forgotten, after about twenty-twenty 5 minutes we grabbed someone’s attention and were able to place an order for food and waters. 30 minutes later we had still not received water and we were parched so we got up and went to the bar and got our own because they were clearly slammed. We were trying to be patient but the kids were so thirsty, after that some food was brought to the table about 20 more minutes later, and the food was cold and looked very questionable. They placed the food on our table and said the rest would be coming. We had no plates or silverware or napkins. After a few minutes we got up and asked for those too, and five minutes later the remaining food was delivered, but it was awful. We didn’t eat it, plus it was cold. The kids were the only content ones with their teriyaki chicken, thank goodness. I’d definitely avoid this place, I hope it’s better on non-holidays but the food was less than mediocre. Our server tried but she was overwhelmed and stressed. The egg rolls were pretty good, I will say that, and nobody...
Read moreI haven't eaten here in a couple years, but I was craving Chinese food and was in the area so I stopped by. I seemed to remember this place as just "so-so", but I was pleasantly surprised. Everybody was friendly and helpful, especially my waitress, who was just wonderful. Inside the restaurant was clean and well lit. I was there for a late lunch, so it wasn't busy. I got one of their lunch specials, the Thai chicken. I upgraded from the Egg Drop soup that came with to Won Ton soup, and I got some dumplings for an appetizer. The lunch specials include the entree, plus fried rice, egg drop soup, and a few fried won tons. Everything I got was really tasty. In addition, there was quite a bit of food. My experience has been that "Lunch Specials" typically aren't overly generous with portions. This was an exception to that. As a side note, I was hungry and started eating when I realized I forgot to take pics of my meal, so there was more food than what you see in my pictures. Anyway, all things considered, I had a great lunch here and will...
