I was not aware that this location had a new name as I knew the establishment by a prior name. The service was not good, the waitress took our order and left, my shrimp plate was brought to me but my companion who ordered only 2 Carne asada tacos on flour tortilla had to wait almost 10 minutes for her tacos, the carne asada meat was burnt and tasted like charcoal and very dry and the tacos came with corn tortilla not flour as ordered, flour tortilla with an avocado was requested, took about 10 minutes to get two tortilla, meat had cooled down by that, my companion reluctantly attempted to eat one taco. She could not bare the burnt taste. My shrimp culichi was good but the side dish of potatoes was cold, I told the waitress and she wanted to take the plate back to the kitchen, I declined her offer as I was not trusting of my plate leaving my sight, she came back about 8 minutes later with new potatoes but I declined, waitress avoided us after that and I requested the bill from another waitress, who brought me my bill and then the waitress showed, I tipped 15% but I did not want to leave a tip, she would have got 25% if she would have done her job. Read moreWent in on a Tuesday evening. Seated promptly by a friendly waitress. We were served complimentary chips and salsa. The whole frito pargo (snapper) was cooked perfectly, and came with fresh tortillas, rice and salad. Had tostada mitxto that was fresh with pulpo, snails and camaron. Started with a piping hot glass of pescado bichi. Tables were all clean and the noise level was perfect so I could listen to my daughter talk about how her summer was going so far. After we finished paying, a gentleman, I’m thinking manager, asked what we ate. I will definitely recommend and will be back as this is the only place in Tucson where I’ve found whole fresh snapper served and cooked well and we both enjoyed it. Thank you for a wonderful dinner...
Read moreI am from out of town and ended up eating at La Perla two days in a row with different family members. I tried different dishes/drinks and loved it all! The Tacos Dorados lunch special was delicious. My family and I shared the Fried Fish Chicharrón appetizer and that was by far my favorite dish. We tried the Molcajete Barbaroja, the Shrimp Ceviche Tostadas and the Shrimp in Culichi as well as the Grilled Butter Shrimp. The Fresh Water drinks are made from scratch and the cocktails are very yummy...especially the Tamarindo and Mangoneada Margaritas. I totally reccomend this restaurant and can't wait to go back again!! Thank you La Perla staff for making our experience...
