Have not been in this place for years. After reading the recent Chow profile of Mulligan's in the Tucson Weekly, a couple of us headed over for lunch. Ordered the chicken fried steak and loco moco meatloaf. Both came with salad starter. First off, lettuce could have been washed better. I let that one go. Dinners came out with way over salted, cold side-veggies. Chicken fried steak was a big portion, however it was resting on luke-warm to cold mashed potatoes. Loco moco meatloaf was tasty but again the dirty rice was over salted. I told the server when asked how everything was tasting. Server told us to hold on, then I heard the server let someone in the kitchen know what I had said. Then... nothing. Server never mentioned it again. Manager came by our table only to talk with a regular who we happened to know that came in, saw us and stopped over to chat. Manager didn't say one word to us, but went to the table next to us and asked if they were happy before retreating back to the kitchen area. At least someone could have acknowledged what I said. I'd have respected it more if they had come up and told me I didn't know what I was talking about, but not addressing it at all was low class. I didn't have unreasonably high hopes for this place but after all the good reviews on google and the nice Tucson Weekly write up I did have some hope for a reasonably decent experience. I am quite dissappointed. Usually I will give a place two chances in a row before I decide to never return. If not for the google reviews and Chow article I wouldn't considerer going back a second time to Mulligan's after this visit. Hope it's better next time, and that this was just a...
Read moreFirst time here and will not be back. Unfortunately, our waiter ruined the experience for us. She was a girl with pink hair and dermals and was extremely rude. We came in for dinner on a Tuesday night at 6:40 pm. We understood it was busy and that there were only two waitresses working the entire floor. When she did finally come take our drinks we asked for menus and she only brought us back one. The food took a while to come out, but again we understood that. Our issue was paying. Our waitresses brought our check over and then left. We put the card in and were waiting for her to run it, but she never came back. We waited 10-15 minutes and nothing. We tried to wave her over, but she wasn't paying attention. Instead we watched her talk with a friend for 5 minutes. I eventually brought it up to her and said, "hey can you take care of this, we've been waiting a while and we really have to get out of here". She proceeds to give me attitude and say it's not even my job to run it, I was just being nice. You're suppose to take it to the bar." I reply to her, oh sorry we didn't know that it's our first time here." She goes, yeah again I was just being nice you came at me really hard and you can see were really busy. She runs this card and gives it back with all this attitude and I was just in shock. She was not super busy the crowd had dwindled down and I watched her have a chat with a friend while she was "so busy". We were patient and nice to her and this is how we were treated? Don't waste your time, there are way better places to...
Read moreMe and two of my friends walked in excited to have some food and drinks here at Mulligans. No one was at the door so we sat ourselves. We sat at the table for 15 minutes with no acknowledgement from either one of the two bartenders or any of the kitchen staff who saw us sitting there. My friends had previously been here and there was a server who came to the table but that didn’t seem to be the case today. As we sat waiting we were looked at by the kitchen staff, and no acknowledgement. We’re looked at by BOTH people behind the bar including customers sitting at the bar and, no acknowledgement. 15 minutes we sat with not even a, “Hi, welcome to Mulligans”. There was also only a handful of people in there, not at all busy, but it was clear our service was unwanted or not needed so we walked out and our now putting in our money at Famous Sams. Do...
