We haven't eaten at Papa John'sIn about seven years now due to various incorrect orders and just basic inadequate customer service but we figured we would give them a shot of a good had been quite some time. This was a huge mistake on our part.
I went against my better judgment and placed an order for two pizzas, cheesy bread, and a 2 liter drink. Sounds simple enough but alas this was too much to ask of poor Papa John. I did get the courtesy of getting an email at 5:51 pm which confirmed my order, provided me a confirmation number, and advised that my order would be ready for pick up in approximately 19 minutes (so approximately at 6:10 or 6:11pm.) I decided to grab a few groceries around the corner from this particular papa johns and arrived to pick up my order at 6:23 pm.
Imagine my surprise when the gentleman said he did not have an order for me anywhere. I politely stated there must be some mistake and provided him with the confirmation number from my email. After a few moments of looking confused and punching buttons on the cash register he finally asked: "ma'am did you by any chance order a large pizza?" My response "yes I ordered 2 and they should have been ready about 10 plus minutes ago." His response: "oh I'm sorry...someone should have called you...we ran out of large dough." I was not certain I heard him right....on a sunday night at 6 pm papa John's ran out of pizza dough? I looked at my phone and did see a missed call...at 6:21 pm so a full 11 minutes after my order should have been ready papa johns called to tell me my order was cancelled? Talk about bad service and poor management. I didn't want to engage further and just said "thank you" and turned and walked out.
I was lucky enough to walk out as a couple papa johns employees were loading a bunch of pizzas onto a delivery truck and talking about having to get the pizzas to DMAFB. Now i am glad our servicemen and women got to enjoy their pizzas but papa johns once again did an incredibly bad job in every possible way imaginable. I can honestly say we will never again make the mistake of giving them another chance to ruin our families dinner. Good luck to anyone brave enough to give...
Read moreWell. I tried to order online, and the website kept telling me to enter my password to create an account. I had the box checked to create the account, and it repeatedly told me the password was invalid. I unchecked the box to try to order without creating an account- it still refused to let me order. So I called. I had the order repeated twice, and even commented that I wanted to make sure I got both orders of cheese bread because I only order for the cheese bread. I only order a pizza because I feel like I should. She confirmed my order a 3rd time. An hour and 25 minutes later my order came. The driver was rude. Didn’t say a word except- I just need you to sign. Didn’t thank me for the generous cash tip, literally turned around, no apology for the wait. Nothing. And I’m patient and understanding, also being in the service industry, I get that things happen and take longer than expected, so I didn’t punish the driver or not tip or even mention the ridiculous delivery time. So I take my order inside and open my colder than room temperature pizza, one order of cheese sticks, and of course- a freaking cheese pizza instead of my second order of cheese sticks! My experience was HORRIBLE in every single aspect. Not one good thing to say. I have to go heat up my cheese sticks now. This will be my last time supporting this business. If this was my business I would replace all my management and employees for letting this all happen to a...
Read moreI've been ordering from this specific store throughout my entire childhood. I've recently moved back to this side of town and attempted to place an order via phone and was completely blind sided when someone overseas answered the phone. They couldn't understand English very well and told me that I wouldn't be allowed to place my order. It was absolutely ridiculous anyone can place an order for pickup but they kept asking for my address. The outsourcing that was chosen as a good idea from corporate was singlehandedly the WORST POSSIBLE CHOICE. If I didn't absolutely love Papa John's I wouldn't have gone into the store to order then be forced to wait in the parking lot while it was made. The people in the store apologized and for the most part they were nice throughout the process but they were also short and clearly deal with a lot of annoyed/angry customers. Seems to me this could be solved by simply having the individual store employees answer the phones not a random call center in another country. Luckily I took down the actual phone number and an employee told me what number you press to reach the store but what a FRUSTRATING experience. Really messed up the good memories I've always had as a kid calling to order pizza on...
