This was such an awkward dinning experience. At first the server was very nice and friendly. The crispy pork banh mi we wanted was out and she asked if we wanted the original one, when asked was meats it contained she answered “I don’t know” and just stood there, (which ok maybe she was new, we are human not a big deal) we had to ask her if she could go back and ask what it was. The spring rolls came out and were delicious. The sesame chicken was very good & shrimp fried rice was decent. The Pho just was not it. We got a rare beef one & a chicken one.It tasted nothing like the one from before. The broth lacked flavor in both, there was an overwhelming amount of noodles ratio to broth and the meat portions were smaller than usual. Some of the bean sprouts were past their time very bitter which we should have caught but missed. No napkins were on table or given to us other than the two that were there with silverware set up. Once we got the check the total on it said $85.86 - we went up to pay with a debit card the receipt said $89.30 plus tax of $7.21 for a total of $96.51 when questioned the server became visibly annoyed and said yes that the total. Still i questioned the very visible table check she gave me for $85.86. Which she agreed was the total, She said look and typed in $85.86 on the machine and still the same total came up of $96+. I asked is there an extra cost to use a debit card because I have cash if that’s the case. Again she answered with “I don’t know”. I had to come have my sister talk to her because I was getting nowhere and she kept repeating very annoyed what she typed in and that the total was $96.51, then she went back to the kitchen and returned to tell us the same thing once again. The owner finally came out after a few minutes of disputing the total. He said yes I can explain, the check that we gave you at the table doesn’t have state or city tax on it. So me being the customer how would I know that? If I had paid cash would I not have paid taxes? Then he also stated that to use a debit or credit card there was a 4% charge (that was not communicated upfront). There was no visible sign by the cashier or were we ever advised by the server of that. Which to me seems to be a very important FACT. When I asked how I would have known he said well you could have walked to the back of the restaurant and saw the post on the side wall -I was sitting in the second booth from the door, I had no business back there. The owner acknowledged that it was a mistake on their end for not letting us know and that he would print out a sign soon and place in the front. This would have been an opportunity for them to make it right and remove the charge and win a customer over but, unfortunately he was like yea it’s our mistake and but it’s sucks for you. Very disappointing and will not...

Read moreWe moved to AZ recently and are on the lookout for Vietnamese restaurants since we had none in the rural area of Missouri we came from. We love Vietnamese food and we are “experienced” with this cuisine. Harry Bang is the owner and was our server for most of the meal. Harry was very pleasant and professional and made several recommendations from the menu. I got the signature Pho with a combo of meats (excluding the tripe). The Pho was excellent and I was surprised by the large short rib served with it (with the “tomahawk end” sticking upward out of the bowl. The pho was excellent, the short rib tender and very meaty and the veggies were crisp and fresh. We got two appetizers, spring rolls and crispy calamari and both were quite good! I really enjoyed the peanut sauce. My partner got the Vietnamese Crepe and it was not very good. It was much too greasy. And we shared an order of shrimp fried rice and though it looked very appealing, it was bland——until we added soy sauce and then it was fine. Generally speaking, our visit was a bit of a “mixed bag”. The table top was sticky when we set down and our menus stuck to the table. They don’t serve beer or wine. But I found Harry to be a great host, and will come again, just because of him...
