Lucky Star | Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Tulare

I have been going there since pre pandemic. Food was always really good and fresh. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I called them to see if they do dine in yet. Lady was super rude and told me NO TAKE OUT ONLY. I shouldve got the hint then.

Today, I order there through Door Dash. The dasher was fantastic but made it very clear that the lady at the front was rude and never answered him when he was trying to verify that he was picking up my full order.l (I requested my dasher verify my entire order was in that bag). This doesnt surprise me as that lady has been rude ANYTIME shes working there whether it be in person or on the phone. I kind of felt bad I sent the poor door dash guy to this place to get my food!

The orange chicken didnt taste like it once did. Broccoli and beef was fantastic. The rice and noodles were 100% different than pre pandemic. The fried shrimp didnt look fresh like usual so I didnt even attempt to eat it.

If you are going to run a business, at least be nice. After all, those of us who are ordering your food, are also helping supply you with a paycheck. If you hate running the front desk, have someone else more presentable do it. As far as the quality of the food, that has went down greatly. Pre pandemic we went here twice monthly. This was the worst restaurant I have ever been to! Where do I start? The inside of the restaurant is disgusting. The dining area has stains all over the carpet and tables. Boxes are piled up to the right or the door. The woman who seated us and served us was rude. Once we were seated she started peeling vegetables on the ground. Literally sitting on the ground! Probably the worst part of it all, she was the only one working and our food was all warmed in a microwave. Our food took 5-7 minutes for one person to prepare. It was not fresh, it tasted like old frozen leftovers. Our food was also half cold. We couldn’t even eat it. We literally left our food and paid. The egg foo young tasted old, cold, and flavorless. This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. I’ve never been to such a dirty restaurant, been treated poorly by staff, and been served microwaved food. Stay away! I’m afraid we’re going to...

When I called and ordered, the hostess said it would take 10 minutes....thats where I should have said goodbye and no thank you.

She was obviously there by herself, no smells of food coming out of the place, and hands me a fully prepared order. I could feel it, most of it was straight out of the microwave. After eating it at home, most of it tasted like it was not prepared that day, or even fresh. Saw there was tirimisu on the menu, and asked if I could add that. The hostess walked straight to the freezer, and pulls out a box of tirimisu that obviously was not prepared at that restaurant.
