CUSTOMERS BEWARE. I like Applebee's and the dependable variety that comes with their menu so I decided to dine here on my first visit to the area. I waited 20 minutes for drinks that I ordered as soon as I sat down as well as 20 to order. After an hour with still no food I asked to speak with a manager because a member of my party was going to have to leave to get back to work without having had their food. The manager apologized and offered to comp the food. I told the manager what we heard about their lack of service prior to coming there and her response was: "oh we know, it's all over Facebook." One would think I would heed the many clues I was already given, but no, I stayed anyway. I had ordered an alcoholic drink(also made incorrectly) to start so when our food arrived I ordered a tea. I received the drink but no straw--not wanting to waste more time I decided to use the straw from my alcoholic drink. When we had eaten the manager made a last visit asking if the food had been okay. Well I asked for a medium burger with a fried egg and I got a well done burger with an over easy egg- so not really, no. I have, however, received nourishment and I'm ready to go so if I could just get a to go cup I will be on my way. The manager brought me a cup--also with no straw. I preceded to pour my tea into the cup and use the same 'alcoholic' straw I had used with dinner. Upon walking out I was stopped by a different manager who said I couldn't leave with the same cup that the other manager had given me. Inquiring why I was "told" that I poured my alcoholic drink into the cup. 1) There hadn't been any alcohol on the table LONG before the cup was brought to me to pour anywhere much less into a cup. 2) As a manager unless you see something with your own eyes you had better get the facts before making an accusation because you are expected to set the standard or service your staff will adhere to. Having had it by this time, I explained that no, I had tea in the cup which I was glad to show her. The manager commented that she had to check because the straw I had in the cup was for alcohol. THESE PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE MANAGEMENT. If one manager validates the rumors of bad service and the other manager accuses before asking...then put together they are still just singing "If I only had a brain". Do yourself a favor and follow the yellow brick road because you are just as likely to get to Oz and get anyone who cares about service in this...
Read moreI have eaten at this restaurant for a long time. Food is normally decent. I came in on a Thursday to eat. It was around 1:30 and very slow. We were seated at a booth. My mom's water had something black in the glass, and my mom asked kindly for another glass. For some reason, our waitress had an attitude about it. She didn't say I apologize. I will get you another one. She snatched it off the table and took off with it. We ordered a couple of appetizers, the barbecue wings, and the combo one with different appetizers. We substituted the artichoke dip for the queso. Our waitress brought us our appetizers. We had the wrong dip, which she said she would get the correct one. The chips were almost completely crushed, and very few of them. There again, no apologies, just stomp off to get the correct one. The boneless wings were barely luke warm with a hard, crusted coat drowned in bbq sauce. The cheese sticks were barely warm and didn't have any cheese pull. When the waitress came back with the correct dip, I told her the food was barely luke warm. She stomped off again with the appetizer. I asked another lady to get the manager. The manager came over with an attitude. She was condescending telling us she felt the mozerella sticks and they were warm. She took up for the waitress, who was so rude to us. Said she was busy. She had 2 tables she was waiting on and one was leaving. Either the waitress or manager name begins with a K. I know what the name was but won't put in on here. The people who have been there for a long time are the people who normally take care of me, and I have never had a problem. I have never noticed these two before. They were rude, and I will probably never return. The manager took off some money off the ticket, but hardly nothing was eaten, and there again, I didn't want compensation, just a good meal with good customer service. The manager just gave unapologetic. I am sorry, and what do you...
Read moreI ate here on a Sunday evening and the TL;DR review is the food is just ok, but service was good.
We where seated right away and staff was very friendly. We received what we ordered and to our requests and specifications. (well done medium etc.) My group and myself all had steaks with varied sides.
Bonus points to the staff for being honest and keeping us informed. I was informed my steak had been dropped and landed on the floor and it would be a little while longer to cook another one. Thank you very much to the staff for your honestly.
Food wise everything was your basic fare. nothing tasted bad but there are a few things that is not a ding against the specific restaurant but the chain itself.
Compared to the mom and pop places in Tullahoma the portion sizes are just so so compared to the prices. You have an option of a 6 oz or and 8 oz and that is all. Many others in this area offer multiple steak choices and options. (including other chains like ruby tuesdays)
I skipped on my original choice for fajita's because the way it is prepared is not a fajita. It comes with cold tortilla's and the choice of ONLY chicken. it is more of a wrap then it is a fajita. Thus calling it one is just a sham.
Taste wise it was average. If it had not been for the awesome server and his honestly I would have likely given this restaurant a score of 2 there are multiple places here that give bigger portions, for the same or lesser cost taste much better and have better options. I will likely look to the multiple choices of Mexican restaurants for Fajita's...
