My family of 5; my wife and sons ages 9,6,5; drove down to Kings Buffet since our closest Chinese restaurant is closed on Mondays. It was dinner time, around 6 pm, and there weren't a ton of people dining when we arrived. The restaurant itself is very spacious and includes your expected buffet restaurant decor. Bathrooms could use attention. As for the meal. I hadn't eaten since 11 am so to say I was hungry is an understatement. We were greeted quickly and led to a table that was great due to the size. So as for atmosphere, 3 stars Drinks were ordered and promptly arrived. That is the last time I seen a server, other than once to take 2 plates and we had A LOT throughout our meal. The buffet is very large with 9 total buffets including desserts, salad, ect. I did notice that there were quite a few things empty so I kept an eye on them. After 30 minutes I had to mention to the staff that things were not being replenished. So as for service, 2 stars. As for the food itself you could tell some had sat for some time. I noticed the sushi bar had times that it was prepared and they were made around 11 am. The buffet did offer a wide range of food from frog legs, crawfish, and a very nicely seasoned prime rib that was surprisingly cooked pretty close to as perfect as you can get for a Chinese buffet. Charred slightly on the outside, slightly pink inside. The fruits and vegetables were absolutely fresh and there was a wide variety. The egg drop soup was quite tasty, pretty hard to mess up, as well as the hot and sour. When fresh food was brought out it was indeed delicious. So food I give 3 stars and that is because of the sushi bar that was never fulfilled and the other items that had sat too long. Overall it was an enjoyable meal for our family reasonably priced compared to every other buffet you would go to. This is my family's second trip here and I would say that we will return sometime...
Read moreI don't normally do this but I'm completely grossed out! And sad at the same time! Just went to eat lunch at my favorite Chinese restaurant in Tullahoma and just after sitting down and took a few bites I found a freaking roach leg in the batter of the chicken! After I took a bite of it! I took a picture to get a closer look just to be sure i was not being my normal paranoid self and looked up what roach legs look like on google to compare and sure enough it was confirmed! We asked for a manager to talk to. They said no managers are here, they are all in China and said no one was in charge! Finally a lady came to talk to us that spoke better English and we told her what we found "discreetly"! She kept saying we don't have bugs we spray for them! And told us so sorry! And that she would let the cook know right away! And that she would take my dinner off the bill! But that we would still have to pay for my husbands and sons dinner! Well I had to go off and say would you want to finish your dinner after you seen someone at your table pull a roach Legg out of the the same food you are eating off the same food bar? She got an attitude and said FINE just take it all off the bill then!! We still offered to pay for drinks and Gave the waitress a tip! Totally sad because this is the only decent Chinese restaurant in town! And I don't like to be negative about places of business publicly but if someone had this type of experience and did not tell me I would be upset! I mean I can understand hair getting into food, that happens. A simple solution wear hair nets but cockroaches? That is a heath hazard! Thats bad! Especially if you're going to be in the food...
Read moreI would typically give this restaurant a 5 star for all around service . Unfortunately , I can not do that at this very moment. We had a reservation for my child’s birthday given that we all enjoy their food and service that they provide. We had experience very rude communication skills on the phone with them before we even got there . We ignored this because maybe the person was busy or having a bad day . Once we got there it went very well until right at the end. When the hostess pulled my sister to the side and claimed we had not tipped our waitress. Which is highly rude given that they have just profited $260 from our party . Also she only served us drinks and did not pick up the plates until we was getting ready to leave . My handsome paid the bill of that amount which he provided a tip . As well as my brother in laws . I have never experienced such behavior from this place of business. I am extremely upset with there bad customer service skills . They need to reconsider their behavior and improve before they lose more business. Everyone is struggling these days with prices going up on food , gas and just your cost of living but this does not excuse that kind of behavior by...
