Today May 19th @ 3pm.
I had a terrible experience at the 13th & Garnett location, and I feel compelled to share it.
When I went to pick up my order at the drive-thru, the manager literally threw six shakes out the window at me with a horrible attitude—acting like I hadn’t even paid, even though I had. I asked what her problem was, and she kept being rude. Other employees even apologized to me for her behavior.
On top of that, the shakes she threw at me weren’t even mine. I had only ordered two—one chocolate and one vanilla. When I said no one was helping me, I was still ignored. I parked and went inside with my two kids to try and resolve things. I spoke to the manager, and she apologized, saying she wasn’t talking to me but to her employees. I told her that still wasn’t acceptable, and that she owed them an apology too.
Meanwhile, I still never got the two shakes I originally ordered. I stood there with my children being completely ignored.
Then a stand-by customer—not even an employee—accused me of using foul language. And somehow, the conversation turned into someone threatening to call the cops. At that point, I said I absolutely would call the cops—for being verbally insulted by an employee in the drive-thru and treated like I didn’t matter. I was clearly provoked, and the way the situation was escalated against me was completely inappropriate.
Eventually, the general manager gave me a refund and offered me the shakes—but at that point, why would I want them? After all that, I had zero trust in how my order would be handled. I honestly feared they may have been tampered with.
I also called the corporate office to report this—and they hung up on me.
This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. All of this could’ve been avoided with basic respect and...

Lazy, incompetent, disrespectful staff. Incredibly unprofessional. 5 employees behind the counter, 4 texting, one cooking. No one at grocery register. I go to food register to pay for 2 tubs of ice cream, and it's as if the employees are having a contest to see who can go the longest without acknowledging me. 4 people, standing right in front of me, on the clock, texting, deliberately trying to avoid being the one who has to ring up 2 tubs of ice cream. One girl is literally staring at her shoes.. Finally someone acknowledges me, but he doesn't know how to ring up ice cream on that register, so wants to go to the grocery register. Ok, cool, I'm already amused by the degree of incompetence I've witnessed thus far, so why not.. He rings up my ice cream without difficulty, but then informs me, apologetically, that he doesn't know where the bags are. He clearly does not intend to look for one. I don't say anything, I just stare at the stack of 100 paper grocery bags literally 8 inches from him. The bags that are leaning against the screen he just read me my total off of. I realize as a story this sounds pretty weak, but as an experience, lol, I'll remember for the rest of my life just how bizarre it felt to be in a place of business with so many employees who are all so thoroughly vacant 🤣 This store has turned to trash and I'll be going to one of the 31st street stores...
Read moreI stopped to get ice cream with my son after a long drive on a really hot day. Had to use the restaurant before ordering. Question, Is it the position of Braums that your stores public restrooms are for paying customers only, or is that just the shift Managers personal views on vagrancy? If I didn't need to use it so bad, I wouldn't have asked, because I assumed they were out if order, they just had the whole area blocked off with wooden highchairs. Furthermore, it is too hot to do that to people. Imagine walking 6 blocks to use the restroom in this heat to find out you should have walked the other direction because Braums can't afford to let someone use the restroom if they didn't buy something. I have been homeless before, and being a burden is already tearing you apart, the last thing you need is to believe that you shouldn't even be a part of society because your favorite ice-cream parlor won't even allow you to use there restrooms unless can buy something. BUT IF THIS IS THE POSITION BRAUMS WANTS TO TAKE, THEN YOU WOULD HAVE TO HAVE IT POSTED ON THE FRINT DOORS OF ALL YOUR STORES, AND IF YOU HAVE SIGNS ON THE HIGHWAY, YOU WILL NEED TO ADD TO THEM THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE PUBLIC BATHROOMS. If you don't want to find yourself in court that is. As far as my family and I are concerned, we will not be visiting my my favorite ice cream parlor again unless this issue is addressed. My best regards, -a...
