King's Way Wings a.k.a. King's Wings. Where the heck do i even start? Well buckle up its story time, word of mouth is huge and I first heard of them through a friend who would not shuttt up about how good these wings were. They showed me some pictures, talked about their flavors and i'm intrigued they have some own custom rubs and sauces. Well next time im with that friend he shows me their Instagram, and plunk my heart sinks they're a pop up. Well a few weeks go by and finally they're doing a pop up, but work is work and I miss them, again and again. At this point I keep tabs on their Instagram and I keep seeing new bold flavors they are experimenting with collabs with other food spots and I'm determined to try these wings to see if they are worth the hoopla. I load up my pto and next time they pop up I'm there. Guy at the front tells me these are the best wings in tulsa, (yeah alright, love the confidence but we will see if it lives up to the hype) Dilemma time what the heck do I order??? Well I judge all wing places on the merit of their lemon pepper wings it's a staple ! Since I had waited at this point a MONTH!!! I had to try it all so i get 15 Wings 5 lemon pepper, 5 hot bbq, and 5 spicy king special the royal Mac and cheese and large fry for the sides. Food comes out steaming and the aroma has me giddy. I sit down lemon pepper first bite . . . BOOM we got a flavor explosion these wings are juicy, good size and the flavor is just mind blowing but I mean lemon pepper salt not hard to mess up right I go through hot BBQ, slightly sweet but the heat starts creeping on me like it's TLC. Got to pivot though, the cook recommended the spicy king season it's his own thing he crafted i get in there and I'm convinced these are the best wings in tulsa, i try the fries absolutely amazing, seasoned crunchy 10/10 higly recommend last is the royal mac, they went to town not overly cheesy, not too rich each bite is winning me over more and more.
I let the cook know these were pretty good and I'll be back. Slight story break so for me doing great food once is easy to do, anyone can have the stars align and put out a good dish, but great food consistently will set you apart. I go back 2 months later order the same thing, I remember my first experience and there's just no way it's going to be the same wrongggg. I'm transported back to that first bite and I'm thinking these guys are contenders woah. At this point I have to get other experiences not just mine, I invite some friends and they have the same look as me *@$%! these are good wings. Over time I go back and try the biscuits, the royal loaded hot cheeto cheese fries (amazing by the way) and everything else they have. The gauntlet is over and I have tried every single thing on the menu even flavors I usually shy away from like Buffalo based sauces and their hotter ones. Fast forward a few more months and now when I pull up to order there's usually a line and they're selling out regularly. Final test I try them out for a catering experience superbowl (will the wings travel well) Absolutely!!!! They are a huge hit and now whenever they pop up my friends and I make plans so we can all be there. Every time im there though the owner says hi, flashes a smile and thanks me for spreading the word about his wings then gets back to saucing wings or prepping his next order. Owner is a genuine, hard working individual and the customer service and passion he cooks with, on top of the wings and other dishes just catapults King's Way Wings over that threshold from great to the best. Sometime this year they'll have a brick and mortar store and ill be able to grab wings on my cheat day or extra cheat day. This team deserves every article and accolade they've earned. Hats off to a job always well done, If you made it this far pat yourself on the back and treat yourself to some wings follow them on Facebook or instagram King's Wings Tulsa to see when they'll pop up again.
Tulsa has a new top dog in the wing world and it's King's...
Read moreSo it was my first time going this week, so I tired a few things off their menu. One I got their traditional wing comb, go price for what they give you. The wings (I got hot lemon pepper did) were pretty good. Just a me thing but I like my wings Drenched in sauce and really wasn’t much sauce in there (but again that’s me). The Mac and cheese was pretty good. Feel like it could use a little more spices to it. But I liked it. My favorite thing was there desert! I would definitely go back for that!! Like get their desert!!!
The only true true criticism I could give (it’s because I’m a potato head) is their fries! I think they cook it with their wings or something but it was burnt which didn’t allow any flavor to come through (like I had to throw away my fries and if you know me that was hard, I cried a bit haha) but yeah I would say just to have the fries cooked a little differently.
Ohh wait wait, their fruit punch or tropical drink is banging! Get that too!!!
But overall, the service was great! Nice kind patient people! Some foods could improve in my opinion but i definitely recommend for everyone...
Read moreThis was the second time we had tried to eat here. The first time it showed they were out of fries so I said nope, not today. Well this past Friday my husband pick it up on his way home because I worked late. I had a feeling they would be out of fries and sure enough he called and said they were out of fries (at 6p on a Friday!) I was not happy! I complained because they offered Mac and cheese in its spot. I don’t like Mac and cheese from restaurants usually so I was not thrilled. The lady taking the order said it was really good Mac and cheese. Fine; whatever.
I was not excited to eat dinner but when I tell you these were the best wings I’ve had! They were crispy and cooked to perfection! We tried the King’s Special Sauce (not spicy one) and the garlic buffalo and 10/10 would recommend either flavor but the garlic buffalo is where it’s at. Also, GET THE MAC AND CHEESE! It’s delish!!
There is a wait for the food but it’s fresh! It’s worth it! We will...
