The Rice Corner — Restaurant in Turlock

I didn’t get a chance to actually take photos of my poké bowl so the photos are from a video I took. Important to mention I ordered online via storefront by doordash.

I ordered the large bowl (2 scoops of spicy tuna, 2 scoops of salmon, 1 scoop of r&c mix, crab salad, green onions, white onions, seaweed salad, cucumber, furikake, shredded nori, crispy garlic, spicy tempura flakes, spicy mayo and unagi sauce). Just so you can get an idea of how much is in this bowl and how much there is. Proportions wise, I do think it’s way more rice than the scoops in total. Even when I did end up mixing everything in the end, there was just so much rice that the proportions of rice vs all the toppings was too much. Same for the sauce, I feel like they did go very light on it and could go just a lil bit more on it.

Otherwise as a whole, the bowl was good overall especially the r&c mix which I would definitely recommend. The place overall is a bit small and the entrance is off the side and not where the huge rice corner sign is. I did pre-order my order ahead of time, about an hour or so before they opened so I don’t have an idea of what the wait time was, I ordered at 10:45 and got a confirmation of my order at 11:21, and order was ready for pickup by 11:35.

The quality of the food was great, was fresh indeed. Price is average given the economy. I give it an average score 3/5, here are my reasons:

The ordering especially if you want a poke bowl. While people are looking at the poke bowl form and making there selection it would help to have it away from the register, to avoid overcrowding the register area. Hella workers but there’s a wait time! So odd, help me understand that. The assembly line is all over the place except the Sushi roll makers. They were fast. Employees are so immature, shouting and yelling “what is this” and jumping in the eating area like it’s a playground. Not professional. Utensils/napkins- expect to ask for utensils/napkins. Dined in and was given my food without utensils/napkins. Like how am I suppose to eat my food, bring me utensils and napkins while you’re bringing my food already. Annoying. They should include utensils/napkins at there water station if they’re not going to give you it when you get your food.

Overall, I would give this place another try because of the freshness. Most likely...

This is the build-your-own poke bowl from the new The Rice Corner in Turlock! ❤️ The cashier was super nice (I think her name’s Vitoria), and she was really sweet willing to explain any questions I had! The check off list made ordering quite easy, and it was cool to see some ingredients that I don’t usually see at other Poké restaurants, such as the zucchini noodles and green apples haha All the fish I ordered was soooo good! They tasted so yummy and delicious, they are probably some of the best fish I’ve ever tasted! I definitely would be down to come back again for the high-quality fish! The classic Shoyu sauce was a good sauce to have, and I’m excited to try out the other sauces in the future too! It was nice that they had the 20% soft opening discount (which ends July 28th!), and they had a lovely cash discount too, so my total came up to a lovely $16.67 🥰 Great job with the Instagram advertising!
