I have been to Kobe a few times and though the wait was sometimes long, especially on a Friday or Saturday night, it was still pretty good, and had a nice atmostphere. However, the last time I was there, with four other people, we ALL got sick within an hour or two after leaving Kobe, and we continued to vomit for the rest of the night and into the morning. This was in mid-April 2012. We called Kobe twice that night to complain and tell them there was something wrong with their food, and the manager told us the second time that no one else had called or complained. She did not know that we knew one of the people in our group had already called and spoken to her earlier in the evening so she was blatantly lying about the fact that no one else had called or complained There is no telling how many other people may have gotten sick that night, but she did not want to admit that it was their fault for us getting sick. Even knowing that we had two small children who were affected by their food, she was not willing to accept the blame for our sickness. Before this incident I probably would have recommended Kobe to anyone, but after this display of total disregard for public health and welfare, I can only STRONGLY recommend that no one ever eat here. I understand that sometimes things happen where food gets left out too long, or the restaurant receives a tainted batch of food, but even in those situations I would expect nothing less than the restaurant to not only simply offer to refund the amount of the dinner but also to offer to pay for a visit to an urgent care facility or other medical treatment if required. We did not get anything like that. In fact, we did not even get so much as an apology or anything to make us feel like the management staff at Kobe was at all concerned for our health or in the least their own public image. We were literally on the verge of taking our entire group to the emergency room at DCH Hospital more than once throughout the evening. I personally started to worry that one of us would suffocate from choking on our own vomit while sleeping, especially the two children, who were only ages felt like I was going to from vomiting so much and so violently that night. I have never gotten sick from eating food before and have always thought of myself as having a pretty strong stomach. But after that night, I am afraid to even think about asian food. That was the worst night in recent memory, and by far the absolute worst experience from a restaurant in my entire life. I can't ever eat at Kobe again and the two children that were part of our group are too afraid to...
Read moreMy husbands warning after Saturday night at the Kobe in TTown. He was being nice when he wrote this, it was much worse. :( "So last night we tried Kobe steakhouse here. Hands down the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. It started from the hostess and finished with "the manager". Hostess did not pay attention and put brown instead of Brian, so we went from a 10 minute wait to 45 minutes. The waitress seem to get lost finding her section multiple times and I guess we were an inconvenience because we went out for dinner. Never once did she check on us or anyone else sitting with us. I am allergic to shrimp and told her, to which she said they are very careful and take that serious. Then the cook dumps noodles and shrimp down right next to each other to start cooking. Then said he had no idea, because the waitress didn't tell him. The manager never came to the table, even after someone else said something. If the food was better it might have made up for it, but it was prepared very sloppily and at high temperature. At one point he burnt my wife slinging food around. I can't believe how terrible this place was and that it stays in business." All in it took three hours for dinner. Two other groups at a grill adjacent to us came and went while we waited. Add insult to injury one of our DD's friends', who was with us, has a cousin that works the bar there and was mortified at the atrocious experience. The second group sitting at the grill with us were three lovely African american women who couldn't even get the waitress to address them. At one point I excused myself to the bathroom and spoke with a manager about it and still nothing. I will be honest, when we FINALLY were given our bill and CC back I lit into the manager, as I had hit my wits end. The owner stood idly by and never so much as apologized. That only irritated me further, so here I am making good on my word telling every UA person I can to avoid that...
Read moreOk, let me tell you about this place. This place is absolutely horrible. I was there for a lunch about a week ago with my friend and I will never go back there ever again. My server was this short skinny mixed looking guy who was very slow at everything. It took him 15 mins for him to bring the salad out and didn't bother to get them up until the chef was almost done. That's not even the worst part. The worst part is the chef. I had the short bald guy named "AC". Let me tell you about this guy... After we got done eating, he asked one of the customers if he knew where to get the "good stuff". Yes, he was asking if he could get some drug from this guy. While cooking, he answered his phone. He turned his back from the grill to answer his phone. I mean who does that really? you can obviously tell he was high off of something because his eye were bright red and didn't look like he knew what the hell he was doing. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PLACE. I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE EVER AGAIN AND I WILL MAKE SURE THAT NOBODY I KNOW WILL COME TO KOBE EVER AGAIN. DONT WASTE YOUR...
