This was our first time going. My husband decided to try the Thai Fried Rice which has pork. He asked to substitute the pork for shrimp and server said ok. He ended up getting only three shrimp on top of a bed of rice. The manager came to our table and had a whole argument with us. He simply question the meal having only three shrimp and requested more shrimp. The manager said it would be an up charge for more shrimp so then he asked for a different meal. She wanted to challenge us on that when we were clearly told if we didn't touch the food and wanted to order something different it would not be a problem. Just adding a few more shrimp would have totally satisfied his complaint! She finally decided to give him a different meal. My meal was an appetizer of Rock shrimp with a side of noodles. My noodles came dry with no broth or sauce. Literally like one ball of noodles all stuck together. I asked for some broth or sauce and the manager told me she didn't have any. I sarcastically asked her "what do I need to do just take them home and add broth to it" and she said yes! She then said I could order a Pisa soup but I just refused to order anything else from that establishment!! She finally decided to give me the soup but made it very very clear "only this one time I'll do it". The couple that we went with; their daughter, waited and waited for her salad. After getting her main course she decided to cancel the salad but they literally tried to make her accept it!! We all had to step in and say "SHE DOESN'T WANT IT!!!!! It was overall a frustrating experience. I don't plan on going back...
Read moreThe restaurant was clan and neat. I was seated within 3 mins of arriving, followed by my waiter taking my drink request. When the waiter came back with my water, I told him my order (Unagi Don with spinach, which came with miso soup). Ten minutes later, a server placed my food in front of me with a small greeting and was GONE. The problem was that I never received my soup. The server who'd brought my food had his back to me, so short of yelling I couldn't get his attention. Fortunately, another server saynme looking around and came over. When I said that I didn't get soup , he asked, "Oh? You want miso soup?" He apologized, about three mins later my waiter brought a bowl, and apologized. Maybe most guests don't want the soup. The food was hot but the spinach had no seasoning, just cooked leaves. No one checked on me after my food was delivered. When I was ready to go, the same server who'd fixed my soup issue got my check for me. I saw my waiter and the server cleaning a table together. I paid and tipped in cash, so I waited until one of them walked by so I could give them my bill. We said 'good night' and I got up to leave. As I was leaving, there was a lady sitting at the hostess counter. I said, "Good night," but she just gawked at me. She really just STARED. It was a bit weird, so I said "Good night" again. That time she spoke. This is a Sunday night. Maybe they're short staffed and frazzled. It's not a bad place, just an odd...
Read moreOne of mine and my fiancee's favorite places to grab lunch if we're in the area, we almost never pass it up.
The chicken ramen is my go-to and my fiancee normally gets the pork tonkotsu. The broth in the chicken ramen is delicious and the portion sizes for both dishes always leaves us with enough ramen to have a second serving at home. Very fair for the price.
Always have great service and the staff is very accommodating if you're waiting for the rest of your party. Servers are very attentive and I've never had to personally ask for a refill on my drink and not gonna lie I drink like 20 Cokes when I go anywhere so that's impressive lol.
For appetizers we always go for the crab puffs, perfect if you're only dining as a couple as you can split them since they give you six of them and they are absolutely delicious. Probably the best crab puffs in Tuscaloosa and the presentation is very pretty.
The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is nice as well, after a belly full of ramen it feels relaxing to just sit inside there for a moment and chill. We always enjoy our...
