My favorite fast food place just became a place I probably won’t go back to. Saturday night my husband and I stopped at about 10:30. We waited 5 to 8 minutes after touching the button on the screen of any acknowledgement from staff. No quick word that someone would be with us shortly or anything. When we did order it was 2 shakes, 3 corn dogs, tots and ched r’ peppers. When the food came out we took our shakes, bag of food and I started to unwrap straws, etc while my husband paid. The guy who was delivering our food then said his manage was hollering at him that he needed the order back. I put the box of unopened food, napkins, spoon back in the bag and gave it back. He also said he needed the shakes. Said it was the wrong order per the manager. My husband said to him, let the manager know we are tired of waiting. He then came back a few minutes later with the same shakes previously delivered and a bag of more food. Fine, mistakes happen. Especially on a Saturday night. But there was no compensation in any form for the wait nor for the mis-delivered food that was handled by who knows on our end and for the food that we started to handle that went back to someone else. Now more than ever with COVID nothing about taking the food back, shakes back, delivering it to the right person and bringing back the now started to melt shakes is a good idea. Read moreThe crew at this sonic has been incredible! I go there quite often and I always get the same thing...so, they know me there. Well, last week, I ordered my usual...got the usual awesome service they always provide...however, when I started eating my burrito, I realized they had accidentally given me the wrong one. I didn't complain...because seriously...they almost never mess my order up...so I didn't want to be a pest. Well...this morning, I pull up to the window after ordering my usual at the menu board. Kendall greeted me and then said, "Did we give you the wrong burrito last time?" I confirmed they did and she apologized and said they were going to pay for my burrito this morning. It was so nice that 1) they remembered and caught their mistake, 2) they owned the mistake, and 3) they made it right by paying for my breakfast. I can't say enough about the crew there. Each and every one of them are amazing and I always get such great service when I go there. Kitty always greets me with a smile, and a "Hi, hon!" or hand wave if she can't talk directly to me. So...all this to say...Kitty, Kendall, and the entire Blue Lakes Sonic crew are awesome and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks so...
Read moreI have only been to this restaurant a few times in the past year. However everytime it takes a very long time for anything to happen. Which is a shame. I remember loving sonic as a kid. The cool way the did orders, the food was pretty good but it feels like a shell of a once good fast food restaurant. Ordering take forever to do. I waited so long for the little stands they have outside to be responded to I left to the drive though and that took a solid 20 mins to get though. At the time I was an Uber delivery boy so I was just there to get someone else's food that was already prepared or on it's way out. Perhaps I'm jaded and I need to be more objective but that experience has soured my taste for them. The few other times I went I went with a friend later in the night. So there where less people to worry about. The time want unreasonably long but still felt long. I also didn't like the food very much. I'm not a fan of greasy foods and sonic just kicks you in the balls with grease.
Would I recommend it? Based on my few experiences lately. No. But if your more patient then I and enjoy some good old American carnival like food then...
