So a few things…this was only my second time here at this location yesterday August 16th, 2025 but I’ve been to other locations before.
Our waiter did a great job, his name was Willian and he was respectful towards us and our party the entire time and did his job with an actual smile, something you won’t see often at this location.
My wife and I have been to other locations in other cities, but we had set a reservation for my parents 35th anniversary.
Once it was time to pay, I worked the table myself for a party of around 22 to make sure that everyone could pay their appropriate amount based on what they ordered and tax/tip percentage too since tip of 18% was added too. I had asked if we could have seperate checks but they told us they could not provide that.
After only a few minutes (and I mean literally no more than 5) I noticed one of the employees was looking at our table with disgust. That’s already a bad sign for a table full of primarily African Americans, but somewhere this upscale you wouldn’t expect that nowadays. Literally while I was working it out, that same employee came by and told me they needed us to hurry up because “we have another party waiting and we need you guys to leave”. At this point we had only been there for MAYBE 2 hours, but the only reason we were taking any longer was to sort out this bill since they were too lazy to do this themselves.
Keep in mind too prior to this someone in our party asked them for dessert and they claimed that they didn’t have any. Sadly I found that out later by the guest in our party which is so wrong on chima’s part.
While I was near the end of the party getting their total for the bill, the same employee came back once again with the same disgust on his face and rudely started giving hand motions asking “what’s going on what are you guys doing” me STILL being respectful I said “we are still working this out, but this is why we asked for separate checks. We’re doing this for you since you and your team refuse to make this simple request on this special occasion for us, we would’ve been done and left here already had you provided the seperate bills” at this point I asked his name and who was the manager, he told me he was (MALAK THE SAME MANAGER YOU WILL SEE IN OTHER REVIEWS WHO OTHER GUESTS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT WITHIN THE PAST FEW MONTHS) with an attitude. Within this time of about maybe 10-20 minutes MAX, he came by roughly 4-5 times.
When I was ready to wrap up, I came back with him to pay the final total and it was over slightly, I decided that I would pay that final amount so we could leave and he would stop harassing us. At this point of course he tried to pathetically apologize (if that’s what you wanna call it) and even during this I tried to explain why we were upset and he kept cutting me off, I told him there is a way to go about things even if you think your customer is wrong. But instead just kicking us out on a special occasion we spent months planning and reserving (making reservations with this location is an absolute pain FYI) is just wrong, and I told him a few times he needs to do a much better job.
Malak’s rudeness, the staff at the front desk not having a single smile on their face, Malak’s disrespect and overall garbage customer service and management will keep myself, my family, and our party of 22 people from ever coming back to this location, and probably Chima’s for good.
Because the honest truth is? Fogo De Chao not only has better customer service, but their food is far better than Chima’s. A party of 20+ people that all will never come here because they all witnessed this locations embarassing management. A party that spent well over $2000. Money wasn’t the issue, the customer service was an issue but we will never be coming back to spend a dime here. It’s shameful on his part, but that will be his fault as to why Chima’s will continue to lose customers. Learn to provide actual competent and quality customer service and people will actually want to come there.
Makak ruined the entire experience. Hire...
Read moreMy family and I love going to Chima for holidays and to celebrate and usually the service is good. But last night was the worst service we’ve had at Chima. It was busy for a weekday night. Everything tasted good. But then my family and I all had our orange signs up yet so many meat servers looked at our table and passed us without even asking! That didn’t happen just once, it happened 6-7 times! Then we asked our server Alex if we could get some specific meats sent our way, and it took 40 minutes for the specific meat to get to our table yet we were seeing the meat server attend other table, just not ours! We had Alex twice to get that meat sent our way yet nobody came by, so eventually our appetite went away because there was such a long pause/break between our food that we didn’t feel like eating anymore. My mother had ordered coffee, and had asked Alex for another cup since there was no room to pour the cream into the coffee, instead of going and getting a cup for my mother, he went to attend another table. So we waited another 10 minutes and asked Alex AGAIN to get another coffee cup, he didn’t get it himself, he went back to the other table to attend, and got David the head server to get us the coffee cup. Til then, the coffee was cold... in the beginning of our meal, I had asked for a spoon for my soup, it took a very long time for Alex to bring it. I understand it was busy, but that doesn’t mean to neglect some customers while you attend to others. Alex clearly saw my dad was upset that the meat took so long, and he did not even apologize at the end of the night. David on the other hand kept the cheese bread coming, brought me a napkin when mine fell on the floor. Wish we had David instead! Alex spent more time caring for other customers and tables than us even though we were the table right next to the register near the window. And we even tried putting all of our tabs on orange to get some meat our way, nope didn’t work still, they looked at our table and passed us! The few meats we got in the beginning of our meal were good, wish we were able to get more, unfortunately not I don’t know why. The salad bar was good. But I don’t know if I’m going to go back to Chima after such a bad experience, at least not for a while, despite our family going 2-3 times a year because we enjoy this steakhouse so much. I guess we have to find another one, because last night was extremely disappointing and put all of us in a very bad mood after leaving. :( the one star only goes for the food tasting good. hopefully nobody experiences the service we...
Read moreThe bottom line: Other Brazilian steakhouses may be more well-known, but Chima is far better than those chains. In the past 12 months, I’ve been to three Brazilian steakhouses, and if I’d gone here first, I never would have considered the other two. Salad Bar: Chima's salad bar is a culinary adventure in itself. It's not just about salads, but a wide array of delectable items. From different types of steamed rice to a Charcuterie section with smoked salmon that's simply divine, from seafood salad to kale sweet potato salad, the variety is astounding. The Rodizio experience was A-MAZ-ING! From best to worst: The Beef Ribs were phenomenal. They were so soft and tender I had to double-check that I was actually eating meat! Lol. Picanha with Grilled Jalapenos was excellent (if you like spicy). Sausage (I didn’t expect this to rank so highly!) There were two kinds, and I didn’t get their names, but the pink sausage had fantastic flavor. Picanha with Garlic! Yum! Incredible flavor! I could have (and probably should have) stopped here, but they kept coming with more food. The grilled shrimp is very, very good. The Picanha was good, but it wasn't as flavorful as the Picanha with Jalapeno and the Picanha with garlic. Let me be clear; it’s good. It's delicious, but I would have saved room for more of the other two types of Picanha. The Filet wrapped in bacon is okay, but not excellent. The bacon was sliced almost paper thin, so it didn’t add much flavor to the Filet. The Flank Steak was seasoned well, but this was my toughest cut. The chicken had great seasoning and is down this far only because the other things are fantastic. The Leg of Lamb was “so-so,” but that’s a personal preference and has nothing to do with the restaurant (I’m not a huge fan of lamb). The grilled pineapple is coated with cinnamon, which is an excellent way to finish. Or, so I thought. The waiter brought the cheesecake, and I thought, “I’m stuffed. I just have a taste.” I ended up eating the whole thing. lol. The mixed veggies skewer was never offered. In fact, I didn’t realize that was a thing until after I left. This was a bit disappointing as I would have liked to try it. Chima Steakhouse is fantastic. If you’re considering a Brazilian steakhouse, Chima’s selection is better than others. The service at Chima’s is impeccable, with attentive staff and quick service. The atmosphere at Chima’s is more open and doesn’t seem crowded. There’s a parking garage nearby, but if it’s exceptionally cold or inclement weather, their valet...
