Corner Cafe — Restaurant in Union City

This was my 2nd time eating here. I assumed by it being a local favorite and being in the area do long, that the food must be good! I had a taste for a burger and didn't want fast food, I thought I would get a better quality by coming here. I didn't mind the $12 ticket, but I wasn't expecting it to be the worst, lowest quality of, dare I say, meat? It had a smell unlike any grilled or fried ground beef I've ever eaten. I took it back in and questioned the Asian behind the counter who, with a straight face, told me, "it's 80/20 beef." 🙄 I took the loss and left, bc of course, there was no refund or a change of items.... 2 months later, I was hungry and didn't feel like driving to campcreek where I could trust the outcome, so I stupidly went back. I ordered grilled pork chops and rice....short story. The pork chops were so tough I felt as if I were in a tug of war with the meat! The rice and its unfresh ingredients had me running to the restroom at 3 a.m. and I only took 2 bites!🤮🤢 Idk what type of regular patrons are keeping them in buisness, but it won't be me! Please take a ride past this location if you're accustomed to food that won't send you to the restroom or emergency room. I am thoroughly disgusted with the fact that these ppl think it's ok to serve a predominantly black neighborhood this low standard quality of food. Food poisoning!!! Need I say more? My wife and I both got salmonella from this place from I guess undercooked wings or possibly cross contamination. But im pretty sure the wings were undercooked, because thankfully my grandkids that were with us did not get sick. My wife and I both ended up in the hospital and they said that I almost died. They gave me some suppositories to basically save my life. All it takes is one time for me and my family to get sick at a restaurant and not only will my family NEVER eat there again, I will warn as many people as possible, it might have been an isolated incident but im not willing to take the chance with these people anymore. I hope this never happens again, and I hope that anyone that eats at this place in the future does not go through the hell that my wife and I did. Are wings really worth it?? Just make sure if you eat here make sure everything is VERY WELL DONE!!! I wouldn't even eat a salad from Corner Cafe. And also make sure the people handling your food (including the wait staff) are wearing a fresh pair of clean rubber gloves. At around 9pm on 10/15/25 my husband and I just left from ordering about $50 worth of food combined. I been having severe leg problems and sat down. When my husband sat down for us to eat a quick bite before leaving. I was driving and haven’t ate all day. We were asked to leave the establishment in front of everyone. Embarrassed was an understatement, another customer even approach the guy and asked him why he was making us leave and he told him other people sit and leave it nasty. That had nothing to do with us. You took our money and made us leave. The funny thing is my husband was on the phone with our four kids asking what they wanted from there before we come home , they were about to get about another $100 from us. Sometimes you have to watch how you treat people. I sent my sister last week, now they have lost about 10 customers because of your lack of customer service to two.
