Get Fruity Cafe - Shannon Pkwy — Restaurant in Union City

My coworkers have been telling me about Get Fruity but I hadn’t had the chance to go yet. As I was out with my friend I was stuck on where to get a good wrap from and boom, he said Get Fruity. The Shannon Pkwy location was right around the corner from where I was so I pulled right on up.

The location sits in one of the plaza’s so there is ample parking. Walking in, the inside has a good amount of space if you did decide to eat in as there are a few high table tops. Placing my order was super easy as they offer the digital screens as you can place the order yourself.

I decided on the “Jermakin Me Krazy Wrap” Grilled chicken and green leaf lettuce with sliced red tomatoes, onions, jerk BBQ sauce, and sweet Vidalia onion dressing on a Spinach Wrap (+$.50)

I said I wanted a good wrap and by golly, I got it. The chicken was high quality and well seasoned. The lettuce was fresh and the right amount for the wrap. The balance of jerk BBQ sauce and Sweet Vidalia was spot on and really took the wrap to the next level.

The young lady who made my wrap, made it with the wrong wrap as she got my wrap mixed up with the other wrap I ordered. However, beyond that, the service was really good. The food was really good, and the experience was really good.

I also ordered a Beef Patty. Though it was good, it was a generic beef patty so nothing particularly special. The fact that it was $3.50, I wouldn’t order it again. However, if you need a quick patty fix, get you one.

Great first impression. It's likely an obscure gem and will be returning to try out more menu items. For details, I ordered the grilled Caesar with a tomato wrap and spinach instead of lettuce. Also got a lucky punch to drink. Ordering uses a app on a tablet that keeps track of your order and gives you a receipt via text message. Food was great. The texture was balanced with some crunchy crouton(?) crumbles. The flavor was on point. The tightness of the wrap was just right and the end product was so pretty. I wish I took a picture but it was gone before I got home. The wait was not long at all, but the team seemed adamant to be faster. Maybe it's because they have a arcade machine and I played ms.pacman that time went by quickly. Their workspace is surrounded by plexiglass where you can watch the work... Which tells me that they're not hiding any issues and they're secure about their processes. Workspace was clean and organized to back up the statement. I think the only con is the size of the cafe, but they really can't help that with what they have. I recommend take out...

I had the chicken Caesar wrap yesterday evening and a smoothie. At 9pm I was sick. Vomiting, food poisoning which I have never experienced before. This was my 1st time eating at the new location in Union City. I previously would order from location on Main Street. One of ladies at establishment was pleasant of the two. When I opened my wrap, I noticed that the croutons weren’t crushed like usual. Which was ok. But it let me know that clearly they were not following the same process as when I have ordered before from Main Street location. My family also ordered smoothies, which were good. But as time progressed, I began to feel light headed, sweaty, stomach pains. I was so sick. Like all the food I ate rushed out. It was awful. All I could see was green from the smoothie. Not sure of prep for wrap but it needs to be re-visited with more training. Food may not have been stored at best temp chicken, dressing, and/or cheese.
