I went here in a whim because I happened to be in Union City. I remembered that they opened up a new location. On the outside it looks fantastic bit when you get inside I was just underwhelmed.
It's been open a few months but it just seem like it doesn't have everything like other neighborhoods. Why one a new store if you are not go8ng to treat it equally? Aldi is known for an aisle of shame. It's the aisle where it has items not food related that may be seasonal or what we call a good find. It was junky. Items were out of place or in disarray.
The good thing about this store is they have really bumped up their meat selection. I was amazed and mad because my deep freezer was already full. My purpose was to find wine and veggies. Found some good cheap wine. Again I wish there was more of a selection like other locations but ik not complaining because not all locations sell wine. Major plus. Vamp up your wine and you will get more loyal customers. I found some reasonbly priced spices, frozen fruit and food items. I was happy with that. Hopefully the merchandise will grow.
Also the staff was very polite...
Read moreGood place to grab groceries without being overwhelmed. No deli, bakery, or seafood counters, but items are available. Its .25 cents If you nred a shopping cart. You need a case quarter (an actual single coin, not a mix of change). When you're done, return the shopping cart, and you get your quarter back.
They do not have plastic bags to bag your groceries. Bring your reusable bags, or you pay for each paper bag you need... I think it's five or ten cents each.
There is no self scan. There's always a cashier, sometimes 2, if it gets very busy. The lines move very fast because they just scan your items and them in the cart. You pay, and there's a long table that you stand to bag your groceries or just take them with you.
I have had no problems with freshness. The green grapes are the best around.
Plenty of soy, low carb, wheat and grains items.
Last! They are closed at 8pm not a minute...
Read moreFirst let me say the only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is because of the cashier. I’ve recently just started shopping at Aldi and I must say I love it. No more grocery shopping at Walmart for me. I had a good amount of items and was overjoyed when my total wasn’t even $100. The prices and the food quality are unbeatable. I’m a mom of 6 so I do a lot of shopping now Aldi will be first on my list every time. However the customer service suckssssss! My cashier Kaitlyn was not smiling and her face made it almost hard to approach her with my things. She was throwing my items in my buggy with no care in the world no thank you no nothing. If this company would get better people with better customer service I can see it growing more and definitely see more returning shoppers. Customer service plays a major part in any business and the hiring managers should look for that instead of just...
