Sushi was tasty, and seemed fresh. The service was really friendly and quick. The waitress specially prepared a little take out soup container for ice water for my 2.5-year-old with a little hole poked in the top for the straw.
The 3 maki combo and edamame was plenty for me (a medium sized woman) and a toddler to share. The miso soup was very good and had plenty of little tofu cubes and wakame seaweed. My toddler surprised me by eating most of the yellowtail rolls I ordered for myself, and only two of the eel-avocado rolls I intended for her. She loved the edamame and ate a lot, but we still had enough left that I took them home for the next day. The waitress even brought my daughter a complimentary little mango mochi ice cream after our meal.
Outdoor seating area has nice velvet cushioned wooden folding chairs and pink and turquoise velvet modern dining chairs, a heater (unnecessary when we went because it was about 75 degrees in November), and curtains with icicle lights hanging behind them. Decent ambiance given that it seemed to be a recent, makeshift addition with a two-by-four frame and those wavy plastic panels. The music on a Saturday night was a little too high energy and pop-y for my taste, but whatever. My kid enjoyed bopping to some of the songs. Most of the other patrons seemed to be couples in their twenties on low-key dates.
My only complaints are: prices were kinda high (but that's everywhere now), the outdoor seating was a little cramped, the decor was kind of random and budget (and the interior seemed to have orange and black linoleum floor tiles on the walls???), and I am not sure, but I don't think there's a customer restroom. We didn't need it this time, but that seems like a critical bit of infrastructure for any sit-down dining establishment. Maybe it was somewhere not-obvious, but the inside seemed too small to be hiding it.
Overall had a nice meal and would return. Food quality and service are more important than decor. But would love to see some improvements to the space over time, especially a customer restroom if I'm right and there is...
Read moreDon't be fooled by these other reviews. I went to Hudson Sushi for the first and last time Saturday night. My mom was in town visiting and she wanted sushi. I made the mistake of ordering $80 worth of food from here. When I arrived to pick up my food, I asked to check my order. The lady at the front kind of looked at me like "uh yea go ahead and look". I'm glad I did. They were missing TWO special rolls I ordered. The lady then said to me "smart of you to check". Yea I assumed you weren't doing your job correctly during these times. The kani salad were small next to nothing for $7 each. My Spicy Girl roll was brown, warm, soggy, probably a couple hours old, possibly dangerous to eat. Becareful ordering raw fish from here. None of the other rolls looked fresh but my mom and fiance ate them and did not want to go back and complain. So I called. They couldn't just refund me for the bad roll. They had to check with a manager. I returned to the place the next day just to tell them how dissapointed I was and how they can be better for the next person. They looked at me like I had 10 heads. Never going...
Read moreWe placed our order a little after 9 PM, and even though the estimated delivery time was 60 minutes, the food actually arrived earlier which was a nice surprise!
I ordered from Hudson Sushi’s official website, which was super easy to use. After placing the order, I even got points added to my account for a future visit — a nice touch!
We got the Salmon Lover, and the salmon sushi was incredibly fresh. My friend, who loves raw fish, was especially happy with it. The overall taste of everything was clean and well-balanced — though I admit I intentionally picked items with a lighter, cleaner flavor profile.
My vegetarian friend ordered the Green Salad and Edamame, and she was very satisfied with both. Simple, fresh, and exactly what she was looking for.
It was a relaxing, satisfying way to end our trip. Great service, fresh ingredients, and an easy online ordering experience — will definitely come back next time I’m...
