I am staying in the area. As chef I expect a certain level of quality unfortunately this place did not meet my expectations. The menu is excessive and basically is the same pasta with different sauces not really something to impress. The pizza was soggy cheese not good quality. It’s not truly Italian flavors are not there, am in favor of fusion of flavor and creating your own but there is nothing that stands out with the exception of overly salty food, sea of sauce and overcooked pasta and dry salmon. Who ever is the owner - chef have no idea what they are doing. Am sorry to say, the empanadas and beef soup on the menu is a sign that Italian food is not working out. And please whoever thinks that putting olives in a caprese salad is ok!!!!! And then balsamic dressing like a 5 years old crayola painting should be condemned. As a french/italian descendant is disrespect to Italians and their culture. Please please be more informed what a trattoria is and what Italian food is. I have been in the area and there are some very great places and chefs/cooks by far this is the worst.

Me and my friends were a party of 8 that dined in the other night at this restaurant. It was cozy despite being near the door and the wind sneaking in every now and then from people coming in and out. They can't control that so I can't fault them for it. The place was great, service was very kind and respectful. A very wholesome family restaurant, and the food was delicious! I was full by the time I finished my fried calamari and got my entrée. I had the chicken piccata and it was so tasty, I practically devoured the chicken. Ordered two cups of lemon ginger tea to keep myself warm from the cold as well. Overall a great time and the price was completely reasonable considering we were a party of 8 and we ordered a lot. Would go again!

Such a sweet cozy restaurant, ambiance is welcoming, servers are attentive and our food arrived pretty fast. As an appetizer we ordered fried calamari which was amazing(5stars), and as a main course we ordered two small pizzas one white pizza and one with artichoke and black olives. I have to say that, I was really disappointed with the taste. The crunchiness and thickness was just perfect but the taste! For white pizza I really think they need to change the brand they use for ricotta cheese it taste different than other white pizzas I tried at different restaurants. And for the other one it was just a standard taste pizza. I would eat here again to try their pastas and appetizers but not for pizza. Overall it was a nice experience.

I dreamed to come New York, from a small town in Alabama. First time visit we decided to stay in New Jersey. Was loosing hope to enjoy the city and a good meal had no idea how expensive it could be, but we found a sweet stranger when visiting the Metropolitan Museum over heard our complaints of not enjoying it as much and finding a good place to eat that was not expensive. Good gracious she came at the perfect time. we were becoming a bit overwhelmed with the City but she made us fall in love, she showed us every part of the museum, took us to a nice cozy french small bistro. I felt like a New Yorker,I felt like I was in an episode of SATC, she so fancy and all but with sweet 🧡.The little restaurant, It was a dream. She told us all the places we should go while visiting and how close we were from our stay to Trattoria. Well i do declare did not disappoint we ordered every suggestion she referred us. The pizza with no sauce very good. Chicken sandwich good too. I give 3 stars, our dining experience was not great, we had to ask several times for dressing they brought our salad with out it and they forgot about our water as well. Overall food was good and the price good too. Before heading back we did order our chicken sandwich, love. We will have fond memories of her unique gift from her shop Viola, we will always connect Trattoria to a sweet person who took the time to make us fall in love with the city, make us fall in love with their place and made us feel...

I celebrated my birthday this past weekend there with family and friends. We were the party of 8. I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, I believe we all did. The appetizers were very good and for the most part I think everyone enjoyed their entrees, with the exception of myself. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. Visually the dish looked delicious however when I tasted the meatballs that’s when things took a turn for the worse. The meatballs tasted like they were store bought, not made in house. The dish was not very expensive but that doesn’t mean the quality should go down as a result of its price, I’d expect to pay $12-$13 for a spaghetti and meatball dish. I ordered that dish because I really was in the mood for meatballs, however the restaurant lost points with those meatballs. The spaghetti was a little over cooked but I would have forgiven that had the meatballs not been such a disappointment. With that said I’d still return to this restaurant because the appetizers were all very good. I would probably stay away from the meatballs. If I happen to be wrong about the meatballs being store bought then they should consider using better meat. Also I’d like to make a very important suggestion to the restaurant especially during a pandemic, you might want to include serving utensils with appetizers. It’s a simple solution and quite frankly something I was...

The food is really good. Very rich, sophisticated flavors but nothing too heavy. Chicken parm was surprisingly tender. The margherita pizza was quite memorable. The limoncello mascarpone tasted a bit overly sweet and artificially flavored. The portions were big, so we took a bunch of leftovers home. I can say that it’s been a while since I looked forward to reheating leftovers from a restaurant.

HOWEVER I couldn’t believe how dirty the place was. The drink menu had LAYERS of food stains on it. There were a couple of flies circling around the door and we saw a baby fly inside too. The floor and table were a bit greasy. The water glasses were foggy. And most unbelievably, there were a lot of food crumbs on the couch seats that could’ve been easily swept off. It’s very confusing to me that it seemed like they didn’t put much effort into keeping the place clean as the above listed details were not difficult to keep away from, maybe apart from the water glasses and flies. Truly, the environment didn’t match the quality of the food and I sincerely hope that they could clean a bit more. On the bright side, the environment lowered my expectations for the food so the food was a pleasant surprise. I really hope the kitchen isn’t as dirty as...
