1st let me say the only reason I am giving this place 1 star is because their margaritas are off the chisane! I went there for a quick dive in & out pick up. Upon my arrival I heard a lady complaining about her nachos not being adequate enough with very few strips of meat on it. 2nd, while looking at thecook/manager preparing food, she was eating food as she was cooking. We all know that's a No-No! Even after experiencing the strike two, I decided to still sit there and wait for my tamales and kids Taco plate to go. So I have received my food which took about 35 minutes for them to prepare, went back to work, proceeded to eat and found that the kids Taco was as stale as a tree bark in the middle of a desert, and the tamales could have soaked up the Pacific Ocean and still had room to soak up more water! So I called around to The Establishment and told them what was going on. First of all this pains me because I hate to complain about a minority-owned business. However when I walked back to the location, and approached the counter, the cook/manager argued with me, the customer and stated she would only give me back my money for the tamales and not that horrific kids dinner in which I explained maybe because you don't get enough business the taco shells just aren't fresh. You think she would take the hint. No. Then she proceeded to ask me for my card so that she could recharge for the whole order and not charge for the tamale's. Let me say unless you are looking for a major headache and food that is completely subpar, do not go to this establishment! This place has the opportunity to be a great place to visit, it has a primo location And especially because the Margaritas are so good! However when it comes to the food and experiences with the cook/manager, you should eat elsewhere before...
Read moreWalked in on a Saturday afternoon and there were only three couples eating in the whole building, two of which left as we arrived. There was nothing to greet us but a sign to inform that all bills have an automatic 15% gratuity and that there is a 3.5% service charge on credit/debit cards. As we were reading a worker walked up but didn’t say anything. She later came back and asked “how many?” To which I responded two, my guy and I. She seats us in a booth, tosses the menus on the table and walked away. I immediately noticed one of the menus sitting in water left by a cup that had been sitting on the table. My guy informed her that the table needed to be wiped down to which she immediately rolled her eyes. I could not believe it! What did we do to deserve such horrible service after being in the building less than five minutes. I wanted to just go but my guy asked for the manager to which the rude, short pudgy lady replied that she was the manager. SAD! She proceeded to tell us to leave her establishment (which we were doing already) and even threatened to call the cops. It escalated quickly over nothing and we are still clueless on what caused her nasty attitude. Needless to say, you won’t catch me in there. This is what happens when establishments get comfortable with constant clientele. They stop trying…service is not a thought and fees are imposed as if they have no fear that the community would ever say no. Most don’t say no, most accept the poor service and increased fees (with no explanation) and wonder why the state of service in many restaurants is trash these days. We work hard for our money and should NEVER spend where we aren’t welcomed ir appreciated. Trash, trash, trash experience at this...
Read moreA friend and I visited this restaurant on Wednesday November 24th. We were the only two in the restaurant, which was red flag 🚩 number one but we were already there and decided to give it a try. The waiter was friendly and attentive at first. I ordered a steak/chicken fajita burrito meal $13 and a medium margarita for $11 my total came up to 30.41. They added a 15% gratuity which I didn’t like because I planned on paying my tip in cash and I was unaware of this until I received my check. My friend ordered 3 chicken tacos $13, a medium margarita $11, and her total came to $46!!!! Their reasoning for her total being outrageous was because she ordered a small side of queso cheese and tomatoes for her tacos! Queso, tomatoes, a tip, and tax would not make up for half of her total, $22 extra dollars does not make sense. That is ridiculous. They threatened to call the police on us if we did not pay the whole amount , and literally all the employees in the restaurant came to the front and was staring at us while talking under their breaths. We gave them our cards to pay and one of the managers stood over us while repeatedly asking us to sign the receipts in a very rude and pushy demeanor. I’ve never received this type of horrible service at the other Bridgeton location, so I will never ever be returning to the Delmar Loop location!!! Terrible experience, we felt racially profiled and scammed !!! They intentionally over charged my friend and then threatened to call the police as a scare tactic. I have read several other comments of similar situations occurring to other African American people at this specific location. They need to be...
