First Stop, Fuel, or in our Case, #COFFEE

Black Lab Coffee Shop is located in TechArtista's co-working spot in University City. It’s a huge space to work or hang out. It’s colorful with natural light over the central bar area. Its aesthetic is modern and colorful with decor of contemporary art and plants.

Their expertly brewed coffee is sourced from a variety of roasters around the world for some rich and flavorful cups. The baristas are friendly, always ready to recommend a new brew or customize your drink. In addition to coffee, there are some baked goods by founder, Tommy Meyer. The service was attentive and quick.

We stopped in for a coffee and cookie before some birthday festivities. We were able to do a little work as well. There are plugs everywhere so you’ll have plenty of juice.

Black Lab hosts many workshops, networking sessions, and art exhibitions so follow them for some professional growth, community engagement and social...

My boyfriend and I live close to this location and he wanted to show me the cute little place he recently discovered. It’s in a great location in U city, but like also awkward to get to, but just follow the signs, and you’ll find it :) We entered the coffee shop space and I immediately smelled some heckin delicious beans. The staff was really friendly and answered the coffee nerd questions I had. We got the banana bread, which was delicious and a latte and a cappucino. Their espresso and milk was awesome and I am super excited to have such a nice quality coffee shop in the neighborhood and I look forward to coming back! They’ve only been open for about a month and a half at this point and I’m excited to be able to support them...

never left a negative review before but had to when I saw how strangely positive the reviews have been for this place? This is another over-priced pretentious unnecessary cafe that always opens up hand in hand with the gentrification of a genuine neighborhood just to offer a medical-level sterile environment and the worst “coffee” possible to top it off. Can we as a community stop going to soulless places like this 🤦🏽‍♀️ save your money tongue and soul by buying a coffee maker. The baristas working are kind and nothing against them at all it is quite literally the product and core that...

Black Lab Coffee might be a contender for the best coffee shop in the Greater Saint Louis area. If not number one, it is most definitely solidified in the top 3. Black Lab offers a simple menu, simple seating, and simple pricing for an excellent and easy going cafe experience. The owner meticulously selected the beans for a smooth and delicious coffee experience. Don’t forget to try his homemade cookies. If you’re hungry, the Toasts here make for a great snack/meal. It also might be the first time I eat at a cafe and truly enjoy the food. Come to Black Lab if you want a real cafe experience.
