A classic Dallas burger spot with incredible fries! Burger House near SMU is a quaint, no-frills burger joint that’s been around since the 1950s—and it definitely lives up to its reputation. The burger was solid and satisfying, but the real standout was the fries. They’re seasoned with a special blend that’s super tasty and totally addictive. It’s a popular spot, especially with students and locals, so expect a bit of a wait and know that seating can be limited. Parking is also a challenge, but if you can snag a spot and are willing to be patient, it’s well worth the visit for a great bite of Dallas burger history.

Burger house has been around since 1951, and has earned every bit of its reputation. Not much has changed and not much has needed to because they still make a mean burger. Pros: - fast service - good prices - consistent quality - good portions - family owned and managed Cons: - run down and old dining area - not a clean facility - impatient staff - limited indoor seating Tips: - this is not the best burger in Dallas, the nostalgia around this place keeps it open. Try rodeo goat if you want something in this price bracket with better ingredients and taste.

Came here to join my sister for her lunch break and have to say the food here is delicious! Staff is super friendly they make you feel like family. Grilled chicken sandwich was delicious, I can definitely tell they use some type of seasoning that sticks out then most grilled chicken sandwiches. The rest of the party ordered burgers, corney did, grilled cheese sandwiches, chocolate and str shakes. We will definitely be back! You can thank Maria my sister. The pictures came some type of red due to we were outside under the red umbrella. (:

We last went for lunch. A lot has changed for this staple but at the same time not so much. Still a lot of construction in the area, as locals are trying to fit oddly shaped homes on antiquated lots.

We couldn't always understand the man at the window but he was eager to help.

Burger is good. Just good. I prefer a thicker patty and onions are chopped(Whataburger style) so they don't carmelize quite the same as ringed onions when grilled. More old fashioned diner burger.

Fries and tots are really good. I like the season on the fries. It makes them different and they can be eaten without ketchup if you want. Not greasy at all.

I think the price leans on location and history of the name. In this crowded market, I don't know if I wouldn't just make a left instead of a right or a loop here and there to another place as there are several better options in the area.

Food is clean. Area is rustic. This location especially is a local haunt. Not any real parking to speak of. You may have to walk...

Yuk. Why do my neighbors love this place. One reason: loyalty. I have read that the majority of people like bland food and I am not one of them. Ordered a double cheeseburger and the meat is burger king thin. But what struck me most was the complete absence of taste of anything, followed by a smell that took me some time to identify. The burger and onion rings are smattered with paprika and the only thing that stands out is a paprika nice looking burger that smells like paprika and tastes like nothing.

Headed to Village Burger next time.

Follow up. 60 years means you are doing some things right! Full disclosure, we have more than a few restaurants that date back decades, there are things I would change but loyalty is much appreciated and many people like things the way they have always been and there's no harm in that. Everyone has preference for taste and clearly there's some genius in the food. To...

I pulled up to burger house drive thru at around 325 . I don't come to this side of town much and saw a burger joint I've never heard of , so I was like "hey ,let me give this place a try!!" I was skeptical at 1st because it didn't seem open but I pulled up to the speaker and placed my order for a regular ole double meat cheese burger." It was freshly cooked , piping hot and came with a side order of crisp perfectly seasoned fries. I drove a little past the drive thru window at the edge of the parking lot to proceed to consume my combo meal and boy I finished that delicious burger at 332 . Ha! Along with the fries!! Folks let me tell you Burger House located on 14248 Walsh Ln . I believe it's Farmers Branch but online says Addison. Wherever the heck it is get down to your nearest Burger House and be happily...
