When Fresh Prince first came out, Will Smith made Philly cheese steaks popular outside of just Philly. One day, my dad picks me up from school and says you wanna go get a Philly cheesesteak? I found a spot (at this point I’m still living in NOLA). I’m like huh? What’s that? (I actually hadn’t paid that close attention to him talking about that sandwich). He told me what it was and I was like ok, I guess (I really didn’t have a choice, we were stopping for one lol). We get there and I see this thing called a Hawaiian Delight. (grilled chicken, shrimp, green peppers, sweet and sour sauce, some of type of seasoning and I know some type of garlic powder). Needless to say it was 🔥🔥🔥🔥! Well, when I moved to Baton Rouge, I was like I gotta find a sandwich like that and lo and behold Cortana Mall had it! FF we are now in Dallas and I accepted that nowhere in Dallas has it… I’ve looked ALL AROUND! Well yesterday I’m on TikTok and I see this lady doing a review of a burger she got from a local restaurant (I don’t eat red meat anymore, it looked really good though, so I thought, let me see what else they have). Lo and behold!!! No, it wasn’t the Hawaiian Delight, but it was close enough! All the cheesesteak was missing was the shrimp and sweet and sour sauce!!!

Read moreWaited in a long line and once at the register the manager told the cashier to go make milkshakes. We were left standing there with nobody behind us while she made several milkshakes. Once we finally got to order she told us they were making a catering order for 500 so there would be a long wait for our food. Really? Bring in extra employees if you are going to juggle a huge catering order during the lunch hour!! She also couldn’t answer simple questions about whether there was gluten on certain menu items. I talked to a manager and a cook and neither of them had any idea whether there was gluten on a few of the items. I am not celiac but have to avoid gluten due to health issues and it is SO frustrating that they had NO IDEA whether their food had flour on it or not. This is a very simple thing that not only their employees should know but it should also be clearly labeled on their menu. Get with the times Slider & Blues! Have always loved this addition to our neighborhood but very disappointed today and hope they make...
Read moreI was really excited for Slider & Blues to open, although I was sad that Lucky's closed. As a native mid-westerner, I was looking forward to thin crust pizza and smash burger fare. Wish they were using Prairie Farms Ice Cream rather than Blue Bell to keep it fully mid-Western...oh well. I got the Hickory Burger and Onion Rings. All tasty. Taste did not disappoint. What I was disappointed by was that Hickory Burger compared to the Single Burger is shredded cheese rather than a slice of cheese, hickory bbq sauce rather than ketchup and mustard, and some diced jalapenos instead of pickle and the same diced onions with a $4 upcharge for these changes in items. I could special order a Double for $2 less. I know it's Highland Park. For $21 for a burger, side and drink, you would think you would get at least a...
