As you know from all of my other reviews on food is I love out of way places/hole in the wall/nostalgia/great experience/awesome food. This place had a touch and a cornerstone of all of them and the sub was great. I went on a Friday post lunch around 1 and was about 10 people in front ordering or waiting. Ordering went great and price was bit more than a Jimmy John’s or Subway. The staff were friendly and a fine olive oiled machine! I got my order of an Italian half in about 10 minutes while I drank a tea/lemonade. I did see that the place was BYOB which that is awesome. Need to remember to grab a beer. The place takes me back to my early teen years with all the nostalgic games and decor. They have outside seating and very kid friendly. Even has a merry-go-round. The sub was perfect. Such great deli flavors of the meats and fresh veggies. Let me talk about the bread. If you ever had a field trip to a bread baker like Bairds or Rainbow as a kid and they give you that fresh bread off the conveyor belt. It’s the same feeling. Fresh and you can actually taste the artisan care to make that bread. It’s like no other sandwich shop. I’m happy to find this jewel in Highland Park. Drop me a like if you find this...

This place has definitely fallen off. I used to really look forward to coming to this place as a special treat. I went to school in Denton and there was another location there that had previously been very similar. Went yesterday and was extremely disappointed and won’t be back. First off the price is insane. I paid $26 dollars for a sandwich and small bag of chips and lemonade. That’s beyond too much. The sandwich is basically like eating a loaf of bread. The bread is enormous and not as good as it used to be. In the past the bread was a big part of the draw nuts it’s changed and is not good. The place also seems to be trying to sell a lot of other odd things like prepackaged food items and just unrelated to its core business. The service wasn’t rude but it just seems that this place must be under new owners and they are just winging it and likely just trying to survive by price hikes since they are so close to SMU. Sad story as this was once a really nice a unique...

💯$29 and change for TWO 6in {SIX} inch SUB SANDWICHS! 😲😳🤯 Bacon damn near raw on BLT Chewy meat (uncured ham, possibly?) on Super Italian 💯VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING 💯 😕

Nothing special about any of the meat or veggies- choice of shredded lettuce, tomatoes, thinly sliced onion. Mayo, mustard and House Italian for condiments.

But at $14+ for a 6 INCH sub!, the cost was $outrageous$ for the taste, appearance, atmosphere. Went at 1am (close at 3am), Restaurant entrance was locked. There's a walk up order window that takes your order and serves as pickup for GrubHub, DoorDash, ect. There are no menus, no prices, NOTHING to see what is offered and for how much! I had to get out my phone and look at the menu someone posted on Google maps, which Also had NO PRICES! A couple picnic tables and a small coin operated carousel are out front when you pull up. No THANKYOU Will not make that mistake ever again! 🤯🤯I'm still in...

I’m always been weary of restaurants with the name “New York” in them, as they usually turn out not to be very much like NY at all. I finally gave in when a tempting deal popped up on a food app. NY Sub exceeded my expectations in every way - the flavor was exceptional and the portion of meat was generous. My husband (a New Yorker himself) said, “There is NO reason these subs should be this good.” 😆 The atmosphere leaned more toward Chicago but it still worked. The fairly youthful staff impressed us with their friendliness and professionalism, a rare find in many eateries. We will be back.
