UP Pho & Teriyaki — Restaurant in University Place

Our first time here, we dined in. Seating was limited but a spot here and there with nice decor throughout. We sat and looked at the large menus - full of great options with pictures for a few items.

We tried a Thai Tea, Milk Tea and Shrimp Tempura for an appetizer, which was in my opion, below average due to the 5 small shrimp "fingers" This set low expectations for our entree's that we had ordered at the same time. The Milk tea and Thai Tea were flavorful, not too sweet and a perfect drink on a hot day.

For our entree's, we ordered Bul-go-gi for her and Chicken & Shrimp Teriyaki combo for him. Both portions were huge and each meal flavorful as can be. The proteins were not skimped on, tender, cooked to perfection and you could taste the "char" flavor just lightly which was delightful! The vegetables in each dish were noticeably fresh and cooked perfectly too! After our meals arrived at the table, there was minimal conversation about anything besides how GREAT our meals were!!

I highly recommend this joint to anyone who wants some pretty great quality food without a long wait and for a decent price! We can't wait...

This place was a surprise. Pulled in Sat. evening around 5pm; got a table and ordered from a very extensive menu. Then the place got busy with many take-out orders being picked up. And all the tables filled up, too. The food, when it came, had large portions and was very tasty. The staff was pleasant, helpful but seemed alittle over whelmed by all the take out customers. Anyway, a good experience until the next morning when I woke with a case of diarrhea. I haven't had diarrhea in years but here it was and my dinner partner, though we had different dishes, had it too. It wasn't a bad case of diarrhea and it is gone now but this suggests to me there is a staff and/or kitchen cleanliness problem here that needs attending to. I would love to hear if any take out customers experienced this. Will I go back? Possibly after a period of time. ...

Awesome. My favorite new spot! Love Love the spicy chicken teriyaki! The spice is just enough for me. The vegetables are awesome. It's nice to get whole veggies like mushrooms! This is my second time we went within a week. My husband loves the Thai Tea. He had the Crispy Garlic Chicken, which I tried and was really good also but had no spiciness, it says one jalapeños for spicy but we detected no spiciness. But still was very good! We tried the egg rolls (no picture we gobbled those down) and were surprisingly good! We'll be getting those again next time! And the take home containers for pick up is great, we'll be washing and reusing those!! We can't wait to try the Pho too! If you like teriyaki, then you'll just love it here!
