I stopped at the Upland location of Corky's Kitchen as I was in that area about a week ago. This was my first time at this location and most likely my last. We did get seated right away, however, the waiter/cashier was busy or not present for whatever reason most of the time. There weren't that many diners there as it was mid-afternoon during the week. Since we sat for quite a while without the waiter coming to take our order, I actually had to get up from the table and search for him and then found him coming out of the kitchen. The food was fine (ordered sandwiches only), but no refills were given on the water and it took the waiter a long time to bring the to-go boxes we had asked for and to bring our check. I had also asked for au jus when ordering but had to remind waiter when my sandwich came and by time he brought it, I was half done. We then asked if we could pay at the table but he said to bring it up to the cashier. We went to the cashier and no one was there, as I stood there for a good couple of minutes with no worker in sight. Eventually a different guy came to the cashier and checked us out. I'm thinking maybe he was just returning or coming onto his shift. Overall, what should have been a quick lunch break took us quite a while and became frustrating. I'm not necessarily faulting the waiter, I believe it's more of a staffing issue that begins...

After discovering this small Great American 🇺🇸 restaurant chain when Possible I’ve decided to drive OUT MY WAY to different Corkys, let’s just say A FEW MILES AWAY. I appreciate all contacts with staff Hostess, Waiter, Bus Boy and Manager experience is service with a smile. CORKYS FAMILY RESTAURANTS INC. needs to be proud of the staff here considering your ongoing manpower issues. The wait time was very efficient and timely. LOL 😊 On occasion if you want great American breakfast leave your DIET at the door if not THIS AINT THE PLACE FOR YOU. Currently I’m in Upland, Ca I had the SIGNATURE CORKYS OMELETTE with the home fries. I’d ask for extra gravy next time. Basically everything and the kitchen sink included. Quite frankly I have enough left overs to wrap it up with an EXTRA LARGE FLOWER TORTILLA at home and enjoy at a later date. Geez makes me wonder which Cory’s will be on my next culinary adventures?! Oh and if you have enough space left in the belly top it off with GRANDMA’s CORKY’s PIES whole, personal, slice, CREAM PIE, FRUIT PIE, SPECIALTY PIE, and or PUMPKIN...
Read moreI am so sorry that people like myself who love grits and don't care to eat potatoes cannot substitute grits for potatoes if you really want to do the thing right add a couple of dollars for changing but you don't make them pay $6 for a bowl of grits that's going with a meal I don't come in just to eat grits and toast I come in to have a meal I really think they need to adjust that it's a terrible terrible thing to do and sometimes they will give you the grits and sometimes they won't it's a what's going on today may not be going on tomorrow and that's another thing that's not good for service I've talked to the manager several times and apparently it doesn't matter now when I go in there I spend a lot of money a lot and when I say a lot 60 $70 because I take other people with me but apparently they don't need the money so I'll take my money somewhere else but to tell the truth Corky's has very good food and I don't want to lie and tell you anything different it's just that they need to try to satisfy the customers a little better and maybe they'll make even more money instead of sending some employees home early because customers are not able to get with their need or want with their dinners or breakfast whichever they're having I truly hope that you are listening to me corky I really hate to have...
