Good sushi at a good price. Sadly, even after months they were only employing 1 sushi chef. So even on nights where the restaurant was totally empty, it would take 50 minutes to over an hour for dinner for two. The phone orders always took priority. Eventually stopped going.
Edit- Because the owner replied, I want to add this: We stopped going about a year ago. We had had enough of the slow service and again, it was because they only had one sushi chef. At least, that's what THEY TOLD US! if the employee was lying to us, I stand corrected. But that's what we were told every time an order took over an hour to be complete. if they have since hired a second sushi chef, then great! I have no doubt that the service is quicker. Like I said before, we enjoyed the food and the price was great. The slow service was the issue.
It's all good though because it allowed me to find a fantastic sushi place in the Keswick village that is even closer to my home in glenside. It's called Nagomi and I strongly recommend it to everyone in the area.
Final note, I think it's interesting that the owner decides to respond to a review in argumentative fashion. Obviously, the positive reviews were from people who had a positive experience. Unfortunately, over a period of almost a year I had very few good experiences overall with the service. My reviews accurately reflect my experience, I don't profess to know what others experienced. So I don't see what the positive reviews have to do with my review. If you look through other reviews I have written, you will see that I am not in the practice of giving negative reviews just for the sake of doing so. Not being able to handle an honest review is yet another sign of poor business practice. I probably would have thought to give it another chance knowing that they have added to their staff, but now oh,...

My thought to myself was, Oh man! Is this place any good now. After a little while, a few more tables were filled. I guess this place shouldn’t be too bad since they still got customers.
A typical Chinese own restaurant, not the authentic Japanese owned restaurant, if you’re wondering. The lady was pretty nice and made me felt welcomed with a little one I have with me. I ordered a lunch beef fried rice for my little girl and a 2 rolls sushi for myself. I am surprised the lunch beef fried rice comes with a tom yum soup while my 2 rolls sushi comes with a miso soup. Never a place I’ve been to offer tom yum soup with the meal. It is always miso soup only! The beef fried rice came out alright, but I wish it could be a bit more dry than soggy. The two sushi rolls were average, nothing too special. I will probably try out other places if I’m around the...
Read moreStumbled upon this restaurant last night when two other Thai restaurants in the area refused to seat us at 8:30 and 8:45 despite closing time being 9pm for both places. What a blessing in disguise it was to not go to those other places. Vic Thai was AWESOME. The food was terrific, fresh and crisp veggies. The service was considerate and professional. The price was less than $50 (before tip) for my wife and me, and more than enough food to leave us pleasantly stuffed. And we never felt rushed despite arriving at 8:50, forty minutes before their closing time, and we were finished and out at 9:38, eight minutes after their scheduled closing. We have vowed to come back again in a few months when we will be back in the Philly area. It'll be worth the extra time it takes to drive there from inside the...
