Please do not eat here if you are hungry and have somewhere to be. My family and I are out of state travelers and we will not visit again. Below is why: ~For starters, we arrived at 11:47 a.m. and didn't leave until 1:29 p.m. The wait to be seated wasn't long, but we waited over an hour for our food. One of my family members ordered the same thing as I (except I wanted to put something on the side and they ordered cheese on their eggs) They plated our food incorrectly and their eggs came without cheese, and we were still charged the $0.50. ~There was barely any flavor to the food. The chicken was over fried, the French toast was stale, and the eggs were runny even after asking for them to be cooked well done. ~Our waitress disappeared. After taking our order, we didn't see her again until half of our food came out (by a differnt waitress) ~At least three tables that were seated after us got their food before us. The table right behind us specifically came in 2 minutes after us, were seated not long after us, but they were served water, their drinks, their food, (and their order was messed up and fixed) all before we got our food. They of course also paid and left before us too. ~I think the biggest issue was when our waitress came to finally talk to us in the beginning, she told us they have a problem filling the online orders (like Uber Eats & DoorDash) so they fall behind in serving the customers in house.
I personally feel if a business cannot juggle both online orders and a restaurant, they should focus on only one type of service. The place was at least clean. The bathroom as well was clean, but the door has a lock issue. Overall, not a great experience and we will...
Read moreFirst time experience today and I'm completely impressed. First and foremost, the food was excellent. I had the California Love, which is a breakfast burrito. I optionally added steak to mine, otherwise I believe it would have been a vegetarian dish. The veggies were fresh and tasty, and the steak tender and flavorful. Couldn't have been more pleased. I also had their version of an Americano coffee, and it was bold and strong, just like it should be.
The atmosphere was much to my liking. Table service, with booths along with high and low tables. Modern decor, great music, tending toward Motown. Importantly, Augie's also offers a study area and a conference room, would be useful to students. Don't know if either can be reserved. The study area has a door, which can be closed. That would make the room quieter. I didn’t care, so I didn’t try. Sat and read my newspaper in the study area and had a fine early afternoon.
I was promptly seated and the the staff was very friendly, sincerely greeting everyone that came in, and table service was kind and attentive. Would highly recommend, even if you have to drive a bit off I-75 to get here. If you're local, you really should...
Read moreWhen we arrived, they seated us promptly. I believe the food is a little pricey. The price for a side order of french toast is $8, which is for 1 slice of bread. Asked for our drink order, we asked for coffee and a dr pepper. They brought us two cups of water when my Dr Pepper arrived. I realized there was white stuff floating and on the cup, and then I realized it was in the water, too. It appeared to be grease. We shared this with them, and they brought our drinks in plastic cups. My wife never got her coffee in the entire forty-five minutes we were there. I ordered fried catfish over grits. The first thing I noticed was grease, floating on the grits. The catfish was not completely covered in batter. When I bit into it, the catfish was not cooked. I asked for the manager. He came and took the fish away. They offered to redo, but by now. I wanted nothing to do with it. My wife had an omelet she said it was okay, they comped our meal. The people right beside us had to send their salmon back.It was uncooked also.
We understand they just opened. You need to work out the kinks before you open. We will give them a few months and...
