Upon entering the restaurant I was already in anticipation but it all went down hill after seeing the first sign about noisy children not being allowed there which I got nervous about since my 3 yr old son has autism (iykyk). It got even worse when we entered the building to see another sign on the buffet that said don’t take more than what you can eat (that only broke nail in the coffin about this place for me). I got very nervous about hidden fees being associated w/ that w/o my knowledge which I think happened.
There was a woman smiling at the front but she was looking down at her phone on the desk which didn’t help that the cashier seemed very uninviting across from her. The signs plus the atmosphere of the place made this place very uninviting, cold, and very uncomfortable.
The sushi was semi stale. Some of the food (not all) had been out for a long time bc of how dried some of it looked (especially the chicken cutlets). The fried chicken was not cooked all the way through, there was pink near the bone. What was supposed to be a fried shell around the rice was soggy.
I hated that I was pushed by a family to go there bc they mainly wanted to go there just to know my instincts were right about that place. It was so uncomfortable there I didn’t even want to stay there anymore after about 10 minutes. The whole mood and atmosphere of the place ruined the dinner for me. I have never felt so upset by a restaurant to make someone so uncomfortable to the point of not being able to enjoy the food there at all. Too expensive for a poor experience. $17/person is ridiculous just for my 3 yr old son to eat there, which he only had 1 plate, was almost the full price of $17 (which I suspected they put a hidden fee for not all food being eaten off the plates). There’s a better Chinese buffet in Jesup, GA. that is at least more comfortable to eat there which makes the experience w/ the food better and they only charge $10/person at the time I went.
I gave the food 2 stars bc it was at least semi ok if it wasn’t for the atmosphere of the place. Food always becomes a better experience when there’s excellent customer service and atmosphere. For this price go to Stone Pho instead- better experience over all. I gave service 2 stars bc the ladies were nice but not enough attentiveness and the guys that work there need to be more friendlier w/...
Read moreThis review is from my visit on Mother’s Day. Let me say we used to visit this restaurant about once a month or so. However, the service has changed some during the last few years so we haven’t frequented it as often. I’m okay with going elsewhere and paying less or even more and getting better service and food.
Ok, so I don’t know why out of all places I picked here for mother’s day but I did and I regretted it. First of all there is the difference in price since it was mother’s day since they were serving lobster. This lobster..let me tell you... it tasted very nasty. It had gravy or something that looked like someone threw up on it. And no I’m not a picky eater. I wasn’t going to get any of the lobster but then I found out whether u get the lobster or not u have to pay the $13.99 vs the regular buffet price. So I figured I would try it. The other thing was certain foods they keep bringing out/replenishing while others, not so much. Granted they were busier but I have had issues with them not bringing out more food. Or whatever is on the buffet sits there getting cold. Lastly our waiter hardly checked on us. By the time he came around to check our drinks, we were ready for our check.
Speaking of cold food, a few months back quite a bit of the food was cold. I let the girl know when we went to pay and she laughed. She asked me what did I mean. I said the food (I named which ones) was cold. She said I needed to pull the food from the bottom and I said I did. She said well no one else complained. I told her I didn’t have a reason to lie. I noticed they weren’t that busy which is why the food was probably cold since it had been sitting. Needless to say that incident rubbed me the wrong way which is why I hadn’t been back here until Mother’s Day. If my child didn’t like this place so much, I wouldn’t even go...
