Okay.. so.. I was actually pretty hungry. And when Iâm hungry, pretty much anything tastes good. However.. even my hunger couldnât make the food at this establishment taste decent.
The girl at the counter was friendly enough. No issues there. However that was the most positive thing about our experience.
We ordered a brisket sandwich and a regular cheesesteak and fries. Let me start off with the fries. They were bad. They looked nothing like the advertised fries. What they did look, and taste like, were the freezer burnt fries that I have had chilling in my freezer for years. The brisket sandwich.. I donât even know where to begin. The bread. It has no flavor. No bite. The meat itself was literally tough. There was so much sauce I couldnât taste the coleslaw, or anything else really. The only good thing I could have done with this sandwich would have been to use it as a weapon of sorts.. for example, I could have taken it with me and if someone tried to mug me I could have used this sandwich to scare them off by throwing it at them. The original cheesesteak.. definitely slightly better.. but the same issue with the bread. Meat was quite flavorless.
I will say, the Dr Pepper and ice was delicious.
But at the end of the day I think Iâd rather get my teeth pulled than pay nearly $30 to eat at this...
Read moreMy son and I were traveling through Detroit, and we always like a good cheesesteak sandwich, so we decided to stop here.
They offered a number of sandwiches. Most of them featured steak or chicken, but they also offered corned beef, brisket and other options.
We both ordered 8â Samâs Cheesesteak sandwiches (#4 on the menu) and really enjoyed them. There was plenty of meat and cheese, plus the buns were super soft. The menu states that this sandwich had cheese sauce, which my son had them remove. On the checkout screen, it said, âNacho cheese,â but I didnât find it spicy at all.
There isnât a whole lot of seating in the restaurant, maybe 10-12 tables. But it wasnât busy while we were eating, so we didnât have trouble finding a place to sit.
Leftyâs is sandwiched between QDOBA and Starbucks (technically between a vision place and AT&T), so parking might be tight if all the restaurants are busy.
We both recommend Leftyâs and will probably be back if weâre in...
Read moreListen. Imagine you're driving into Michigan. You see a place called "lefty's." You're left-handed. The place is for left handers. The hoagie you got was FANTASTIC. The portions, the taste, EVERYTHING. you decide to go back there two months later. You get the flaming hot cheesesteak hoagie......and the chips are STALE. The stalest chips you EVER tasted on a sandwich. I was so disappointed. I paid basically 18 dollars for a stale sandwich. I'm sad because I REALLY love this place and someone really special introduced it to me, and the second sandwich you got was basically not edible because the sheer amount of stale chips on it. I couldn't believe that to be completely honest, but I'll definitely give it another try one day. My only suggestion is to not try the hot cheeto cheesesteak and try literally anything else. The food is fantastic besides...
