Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Vancouver

We had dinner here tonight. Before we arrived I called because we were a party of 7 and we wanted to be courteous since we know applebees is always poppin. The young lady who answered told me it was first come first serve so to just arrive and we should be good maybe a few minute wait. We arrived and was greeted by a younger man and a younger lady who were hostesses. The first few minutes of the interaction the young gentleman was very rude and unprofessional and while we were explaining we had no problem being split the young gentleman and lady rolled their eyes and said no it will be a 30 minute wait. We said okay thats fine we will wait because we came here for a reason and sat down. It was maybe 5 minutes later and the male hostess walked over and asked if we were waiting after we just plainly had a 10 minute conversation and I said yes we are here and he put down our name. Our check in wait was at 6:29 and we waited until 7pm. We watched as this young man and woman sat 6 different couples down with these people not having to wait like we did. Which I thought applebees was first come first serve. I did speak with the manager who I unfortunately didnt get her name and she listened and made everything right. This manager went above and beyond. Our waitress was amazing and her service was TOP NOTCH! We left her a $70 tip because she made the night for us along with manager. I so wish I would've gotten the managers name. But thank you for hearing the concerns and quickly jumping on it and sorting it all out. This applebees has amazing management. Hopefully the hostesses, the young male and toung female which i will refrain from naming, they need more customer service training. The snickering and bickering when we are an ear shot away was very unprofessional and this needs to be addressed with those 2. Also the food was AMAZING! And delicious! I wish I would've gotten pictures but we all were starving after everything and just dug right in. This applebees was the best by far besides the first 30-35 minutes of us stepping in. Service and atmosphere really didn't matter since I ordered take out but the restaurant was clean and the hostess was pleasant. Having been an employee for the Applebee's in the past as an expeditor who took pride in their job as the person who was in charge of the quality and freshness of the food that came out of the kitchen I will say I was very disappointed with my order the Apple buddies totally dropped the ball. We ordered from the 2 for $26 menu. My meal was the Fiesta Lime Chicken & my son ordered the Bacon Chz Burger and our appetizer was the Deep Fried Chz sticks. The Chz sticks were hard and rubbery and the Fiesta Lime chx was horrible the chix was over cooked so the Chz was hard and chx dry and hardly any sauce to lend to hide the dried out meat the rice was just as bad if not worse as it was what I can only imagine gravel would feel like if one tried eating it! No one can say maybe the food didn't survive my drive home but that wasn't the issue since I live no more than a 5 min drive from the restaurant and there wasn't a rush since it was past the usual dinner hour and the kitchen had no reason for the food to be anything but fresh and the expeditor would've been able to bag it up without having to leave it sitting under the hot lamps causing it to dry out. It was as if the meal was an oops from a previous order that they decided to pawn off instead of making it a Scooby snacking it for staff. The only thing in the order that was good not to mention edible was my son's burger and for $28+ after tax and tip it better had been! I was taken to Applebee’s very bad experience I ordered the ribs on the menu. It says they’re delicious and they fall off the bone comes with fries for one thing. The fries were not crisp not even hot and rubbery I sent them back. Took forever to get fresh fries when they came, they were over salted badly and as far as the ribs go oh my gosh, it didn’t fall off the bone you had to know just to get the meat off and chewy never going there again they weren’t even tasty. Their fries suck bad and definitely. The ribs were very uneditable like I said I’m not going there ever again and I suggest that for everyone else too I called when I got home to let them know I didn’t want to take the leftover ribs home because they were uneditable to me, but I didn’t want to seem ungrateful to my date and he just thanked me and got off the phone quick Not even an apology. Nothing to try to make up for it to keep me as a customer no stars for this place and I’m talking about the Applebee’s on 2nd Circle, Vancouver, WA. I did call when I got home to let them know how their food was. He questioned me a lot with no apology. I asked him if he could take my name for a replacement order.
