I LOVE the pizza at Champs - specifically the Detroit 4 Corner pizzas, and the Sweet-n-savory.
BUT, the last month or two many of the locations have not had Brie in stock to make the pizza. This location did not have it taken off the online menu, so we figured it was still available. Ordered that pizza - and then they called us to say they did not have the Brie. That was fine, I appreciated that they let us know. They also let us replace that topping with another of our choice.
A few weeks after that, we did the same thing. Tried to order the Sweet-n-savory pizza online. No call; we got to the store to pick up the pizza and there was no Brie on it. When I asked the cashier about it, he said that pizza never came with Brie. ??? That was odd, but I chalked it up to maybe a new employee who didn’t know.
A week or two after that we wanted to order it again. Despite the wonky service, it’s a really good pizza and we wanted it! So we called beforehand and asked if they had the Brie. They said yes. We placed the order and went to pick up. When we got there, they said they were out of Brie again. No one could find any in the back. The cashier seems new and had to call a manager, who then said that all they could do was refund our order and we could go elsewhere.
After three experiences, two of which I consider “bad” with regards to customer service, I don’t think I’ll be back to this location. It has been a letdown too many times now, with the same issue again and again.
Either order what you need, or take it off the menu. Train your employees in better customer service. When a customer has an expectation that - you you’ve put in your own website - and you can’t meet it, don’t just tell them to go...
Read moreThis is my third time coming into this location, so this review is about my whole experience. On my first visit, I went inside to order. The owner helped me. He was a nice, made conversation, took my order, and made the pizza. It was perfect (I didn't take a photo). At this point I was excited to have found a pizza spot that wasn't a huge chain.
On my second visit I ordered ahead and when I got there it took about 3-4 minutes to get help even though there was five people including the owner in the back talking/ standing around and making pizza (I was the only customer). Eye contact was made by one of the young people working there, but he didn't help me or signal anyone that they had a customer. While I was standing there waiting, I saw that young person put his bare hand into a pile of dry dough, then shake his hand off right back onto the pile. I attempted to say hello a couple of times, but no response. Eventually, someone helped me and gave me my pizza. This time I got their vegetarian pizza (took a photo) it was good but I was reluctant since seeing that kid put his hand in the dough.
On my third visit I got their Hawaiian pizza which is what I got the first time(this time I have a photo and video). Again I ordered ahead but this time, when I got there, someone helped me right away, and I was in and out within a minute. The pizza itself tastes good, but all the toppings were in the center of the pizza. When I tore apart a slice, it just fell apart.
At this time I'm not going to write off this location. I feel they have their flavor down, this location just needs work on their customer service, quality control, and safe food...
Read moreI called to ask for a cinnamon roll with the frosting put on the side. My husband does not eat sugar and many people, such as those with, diabetes, cannot have sugar. The girl on the phone said that they don’t normally do this. I told her that other employees have done it for me. The woman said that “I guess we can do it then,” so I placed the order. Fast-forward, I went to pick up the cinnamon roll and give my name to a man at the counter. The girl hears that I am the cinnamon roll order, comes out of the kitchen, and comes out from behind the counter. I look and see that the cinnamon roll has frosting on top of it. She said, “Like I said on the phone, we can’t modify the order.” This teenage girl’s attitude was unprofessional. If she had told me this ahead of time, I would have just gone somewhere else. Instead, I am told that they can separate the frosting, and I waste my time and money going to pick up the order. The rudeness and unprofessional attitude was unacceptable and unnecessary.
