My first time here and I was excited to see the high rating on Google. I ordered lemon chicken pad Thai and I was disappointed. The chicken was so dry that it was jerky-like at the ends and even though I was hungry, it was too depressing to eat much. The rest of it was extremely mediocre and the sauce was very heavy. I started to feel nauseous near the end and I had a feeling I knew why. I asked the waiter if the sauce was made from scratch or from a bottle. He said it was from a bottle. I’m very sensitive to the high sodium in processed foods and they often make me nauseous. For $14 I expected more than bottled sauce and super dry chicken. Also, I was the only customer there the entire time and never was asked if I was enjoying or if I enjoyed the meal. I got a water refill at least, but I waited a while for a check, then tried to wait a while at the counter, finally a young woman sitting in a booth asked if I’d like her to get the waiter for me. I said yes and she kindly did and then ended up ringing me up. I don’t think I’ll be going here again or recommending it, the whole place seemed like they had given up trying. Honestly, if the food was fresher and made their own sauces, it would be much more interesting food worth the high price. I would not have paid over $8 for the meal I was served, it reminded me of the fast food you get...
Read moreI went to this restaurant after reading the raving reviews and everyone praising the food.
Food: 0/10 This was the most bland and disgusting Thai food I’ve had in my life. The pad Thai had absolutely no flavor or spice. The lemongrass chicken was drowning in peanut sauce which eliminated the lemongrass flavor, served with steamed vegetables at the bottom and ended up creating a pool of water at the bottom of the dish.
Cleaningness: 9/10, the tables were thoroughly cleaned after people left and prepared for new customers to come in. No visible crumbs on the floor.
Service: 8/10, Went on a Sunday afternoon, two waiters were present. Waiters were nice, and checked in frequently. But never refilled water on their own accord. Also gave the bill, I put my card but they never collected it so I walked to the register. I’d prefer if they either don’t give a bill and just have you pay at the end or give the bill but collect payment from the table. Very awkward timing.
Atmosphere: 8/10, It’s a cute place, beautiful decoration, music playing at a reasonable level. If it were more crowded ir might be more difficult to use the restroom (only one bathroom available for everyone) plus space to walk would be limited. Noise might be louder as well.
Overall: Don’t trust reviews from strangers that have different taste preference...
Read moreI might be in love with Sri Thai, And fall to the floor as I cry! The Tom Yum’s sublime! With Galangal and Lime! Next time I’ll try Tom Yum Gai! Yes, I know the limerick is the lowest form of human communication, but I couldn’t resist waxing poetic. These little magical gems hide in plain sight tucked away in ugly little strip malls and then jump out and grab you by the love! The service was perfect… and perfect in that particular Thai form where you feel honored by the server, like you’re special, which is nice when you’re a fat old relatively ugly dude. The soup was spicy without being murderous and there were plenty of noodles and chopped peanuts. They did something with the chicken so it was textured (see picture) which allowed the broth to fully flavor the meat and the shrimp was well flavored which is something a lot of places miss. Good noodle lift, I hate it when you pull a couple of noodles up and the whole mass comes up like a tangled root system. I loved that the spoon is designed so it can’t slip into the bowl and disappear beneath the crimson waves. Shows thoughtfulness. I should have asked if the Thai Iced tea was already sweet because I added my own sweetener and it was, horrible, but that was my fault, not theirs. Full five stars, not a tad bit less! Sorry...
