Sweet Touch Cafe & Svitoch — Restaurant in Vancouver

I buy things from this store quite often. So, I was in a hurry one day and I bought 2 packs of their pierogies (vareniki) 1 with potato and 1 with cabbage. First of all they're very huge. The quality is very bad. Potato pierogies by the time the were done cooking I had potato no potatoes left in them. They're so big and they're closed properly because too much flour. So, my husband barely ate them. About a week late I decided to cook the cabbage pierogies ( I love cabbage pierogies). Anyway this was even worse than the potato pierogies. First of all there is no cabbage inside them. Its more like a eggplant or zucchini spread that's inside. Due to the pierogies being so huge they also started opening and half the gross filling came out. On top of that my house was filled with a really disgusting smell afterwards. Anyhow, my husband and I refused to it and we threw away the whole bag!

I DO NOT recommend anyone this product. First of all its a little too price for 1 pound of pierogies for the price of $6.99. There are other good quality brands that are super good and delicious. A few that I tried are Alex's Meat and От Олежки. Very very delicious and they have dumplings as well with different meat fillings!

Don't get me wrong I was born in Russia and have been eating pierogies and dumplings my whole life so, after tried these so called pierogies I was really disappointed. I would recommend this store to take it off their shelves completely!

I’ve been going here for several years and have always LOVED their baked goods and foods that I’ve gotten there. Unfortunately for me I live 4 hours away and don’t get to go as often but I’ve fallen in love with their honey cake. This year I tasked my sister with ordering a honey cake for my birthday on the 18th and despite a challenging time ordering the cake due to the language barrier she placed an order for a traditional honey cake. She paid a $20 deposit and was told that she’d have to pay $40 when picking up. On Thursday July 17th she sent her boyfriend to pick it up for her and he was charged the full price of $64 despite her deposit and was given a completely different cake. Not honey cake at all. I event attached photos of what they sent him home with and what it should have been as listed on their website and as what they advertise in their cake display in their store. They didn’t offer a receipt at all so we weren’t able to go back and by the time my sister got home from work and noticed the wrong cake the store was already closed. I love Svitoch and will continue to go back but I’m extremely disappointed that we were not only charged more than full price for the cake but it ended up being the wrong cake. Not only that but it was the most disappointing cake I’ve had from Svitoch and nobody at my birthday was happy with it whatsoever. always thoroughly enjoy coming into this bakery/coffee shop, I have never had one bad dessert from this shop. They also make pastries filled with different meats which I have not yet tried but looking at the pastries under glass they look amazing! I do have a con about this place. I have been living in the area eight years now and have been coming into the shop for about that long now. The one thing that I don't like it most of the time I come in here the ladies behind the counter never smile or don't make me feel welcomed to come into the shop. Last night (Friday September 14) was the worst feeling I have ever had in there. There were three ladies there and one young man, at one point I looked up toward the glass case where then espresso machine as at and two of the ladies were just staring at me and the faces were NOT welcoming at all! The young man was very nice and helpful and thanked us for coming in. These ladies need to understand that they are being watched and it doesn't take much just to put on a smile and make someone feel welcomed.
