Dutch Bros Coffee — Restaurant in Vancouver

Where do they find this endless repository of nice, engaging young kids? I don’t think that I have ever run into an employee at one of these places who was anything but kind and friendly.

And this Dutch Brothers was no different. They were fast and efficient and most of all friendly and kind, which in my world is the lubricant that moves the motor and gentles the troubled waters.

I hope they treat them well, and I hope that the tips flow like water from a deep spring. Do not let this hard world cause harm to these bright young baristas they are the ones who will carry our standards into the future. They are the ones that will be scattered like seeds into the fertile soil of the community.

Yes, I know that it is only a cup of coffee, but I also know that nothing in this world is as simple and straightforward as a mix of basic ingredients. It is the staff, the crashing together of lives, the hard work and the struggle of day-to-day life.

And beyond that, it is a metaphor and a symbol. It represents a moment of grace that is looked forward to and valued by so many. A tradition in our country that stretches across generations and cultures gives us a moment of peace

Employees were kind enough, but they had the music in the lobby playing so loud I couldn’t even hear myself talk! My poor mom with hearing aids couldn’t hear anything the employee was saying, and he just laughed when I said the music was too loud, and he even had to keep saying what because he couldn’t hear us. I enjoy loud music, but there’s a time and a place. That time and place is not in a business establishment that provides customer service, and requires being able to communicate your order without having to yell it to the employee!!!!
