Elmer's is always a decent place to eat. The food is usually very good and the service pleasant. For some reason service was lacking this time around. I wouldn't mention poor service if it had been busy, but when I came in there was only one other table filled. As the next hour progressed (I had finished my food in the first 20 minutes) more people started coming in. They were all seated and their orders taken. Prior to that i had 2 visits from my server. One in the first 2 minutes to deliver my clam chowder and once to deliver my entree about 10 minutes later (decently fast food service). Food was good , fries were hot and the strawberry lemonade extremely good and refreshing on that 90 degree day. However, it took me an additional 40 minutes to get my check. Plate was pushed away so it was obvious I was finished. I had not been visited or asked even once if I needed anything, if I wanted some water, or even about dessert. Since by that time it had started to get busy I was thankful I was not just arriving or things probably would have been much worse. It was empty until I had finished my meal. The greeter had to come and check on tables (but not mine) as the server was not doing it. Why I left a 20 percent tip? Habit I guess. I hope she was just having an off day and it was not normal for her. Usually Elmer's has excellent service. I was so neglected I honestly don't think anyone would have notice if I had just gotten up and walked out. Something I would never do, but a stray thought after trying to get my check for 40 minutes after my meal was done. Good thing I had a book to read in between the attempts to get her attention on those few...

A delicate crunch to excite and delight the fries were a testament to friedom! An absolute perfection of deep fried wands of potato! Yes, I asked for extra crispy, and yes they listened.

There is nothing fancy here. You ask for fries and that’s what you get. Simple, no surprises. I got a Bacon Cheeseburger and again it was exactly what I wanted and expected, a simple, well executed, perfect, Bacon Cheeseburger. I wanted crispy fries, that’s what I got. The waitress was perfect. Our group was large and she took her time to get our orders right, was friendly, attentive, and helpful. It can’t be easy. She was wonderful.

I love exotic. I love fusion. I have been to every Pho restaurant in the area. I am always hunting for something new and interesting and I don’t come to places like this often enough. Places that just do a good job serving simple basic food in a friendly and efficient way. No nonsense, get er done.

There should be a special award for the waiters, waitresses, busboys and cooks in places like this that work so hard for so many years with such great attitudes doing such amazing jobs! Talk about heroes! I work with my hands for a living. I have devoted many years to refining my skills and I honor skill when I see it. When I see a waitress working a table like she’s known those people for years, like they’re family, I recognize skill. And when I ask for crispy fries and the entire plate comes perfectly crispy I know the cook is a master of what he or she does.

Had horrible service and food here the day before Christmas eve 2018. After waiting for 20 mins to get a table, we were assigned a waitress who didn't care much about providing good service. She got my order incorrect, didn't offer to fix it, the food instantly made my daughter sick, we had maybe 5 bites of our food total between the 2 of us so it was very obvious that we didn't like the food but she didn't ask nor did she care that we barely touched it. She just offered us a box which I declined and then brought us our bill. While paying the bill at front desk I explained to hostess the issues we had just encountered and how unhappy we were, the hostess didn't care either, didn't apologize, didn't offer to get a manager, just said "oh yeah well it was real busy" .. so at this point I was just ready to leave. Once I got home I was still so appualed that I called and spoke to the manager, he seemed extremely apologetic and offered to send me to free meal certificates to give them a second chance... I thought that was really nice and fair..but now its been a couple weeks and I still have not received them in the mail. So I'm highly disappointed in my entire experience with Elmer's. I work in a restaurant so I know how good service should go. Won't be going...
