Ichi Teriyaki 27 — Restaurant in Vancouver

I've come here for years and it's usually reliable and pretty good. Today was surprisingly bad. My partner and I came in around 3:30 for takeout and the girl working the register was taking our order while she was on her cell phone talking to someone. My partner tried to order beef yakisoba, and I ordered chicken teriyaki with the gyoza and a thai tea.

Once we got to our destination and opened the boxes we realized they had messed up and made beef with white rice instead of yakisoba, pretty dissapointing since it was likey due to the cashier mishearing us since she was talking on her cell phone, made a little worse by the rice being dry and gummier than usual.

In the past the gyoza were always crispy, but today it was underdone and not crispy at all. The chicken also seemed underdone compared to usual.

The cashier also made my thai iced tea... it was barely orange since the ratio of milk and actual tea was so far off... I drank some of it before leaving so she could add more tea to it to make it slightly better. We tipped well even though it was togo but honestly regret it since the service was so bad today.

They were completely empty besides us, so I'm not sure what the reasoning for the bad service and food quality was. We didn't have time to go back for a refund to remedy the situation since my partner had to go to work. We are out $40 for a dissapointing lunch we threw...

When asked if everything was good/if we needed anything we told the wait staff/cashier/counter person that the spicy chicken was not spicy (glad we only ended up ordering on one plate) did not offer another option did not offer refund, said that’s the spicy sauce. The dish ordered was spicy chicken with egg roll, only came with one small very greasy (old oil taste) egg roll and chicken was not spicy at all although paying $1+ for the spicy sauce. The side plate of gyoza and my coconut shrimp was also very greasy and small, with old oil taste. Woman was rude and also pointed out all sales final no refunds sign placed strategically where no one would see before ordering. Just super disappointed and won’t come back or recommend this location to others. Prices seemed higher and portions much smaller just because of downtown location vs others we’ve gone to. Looks and tastes worse than freezer options from grocery store. For meals that cost $15+ I just feel ripped off and customer service left so much to be desired, I’d give 0 ⭐️ if that...

I just wanted to add yesterday April 25th i was here and the waitress is very good i never have an easy order and she made sure my order was correct i have so many different appetites in our home and all like different things. I appreciate this kind of service thank you very much. 3 months ago

OMG I can't say enough about this place their fried rice is my favorite with their house special spicy chicken teriyaki. The beef teriyaki is so good also. My family loves to eat here almost 2 yrs now haven't found a better place yet and actually only look if we are out of town. Tried others locally and this is our favorite. They are always so kind and friendly to us. Definitely 10 out of 10 for us
