The worst restaurant experience Iâve ever had.
My coworker called ahead and made a reservation + ordered ahead for 4 of my other coworkers, then informed the employee on the phone that a couple more people would be calling in a bit later to put in their orders, and that they were also part of our group (6 people total). NOTE: The owner of the restaurant had previously told my coworker that calling and ordering ahead of time was definitely acceptable, since time can get a bit tight on our lunch break and we did not want to get stuck in a risky lunch rush. So, I called in about an hour prior to our reservation and attempted to place my order, letting them know I was part of the reservation for 6. âAre you sure? Iâve already received all of the orders for that group,â the employee told me. I calmly explained, âMy coworker informed you that Iâd be calling my order in separately, but I am part of that group.â She then flat out REFUSED to take my order, saying she needed confirmation from my coworker who originally made the reservation, as if I did not know what I was talking about. I genuinely could not believe it.
So, I decided to tag along with my other 5 coworkers who were actually able to put in their orders. We arrived at the restaurant to find a table with 5 chairs and their food sitting out in the open, unsupervised...which seems totally unsanitary and pretty risky to me?? The waitress/hostess saw we arrived but did not bother to assist or acknowledge us in any way. We had to drag a chair over from another table so I could sit. She did not offer me a menu, but instead flat out ignored me. We had to beg for her to bring us water and silverware, which took her 15 minutes to bring even though the restaurant was not busy. Youâd never guess how many waters she brought over...(A: 5). We also asked for an extra plate and my coworkers piled bits of their food onto my plateâmuch to the waitressâs surprise/dismay.
I know people have bad days, and I try to overlook a bad customer service experience or two...but this was just laughable. I remained cordial throughout in hopes that they would apologize or at least try to make up for their horrendous service. No such luck.
Will never even attempt to eat (or, sit) in this...
Read moreSorry...Sorry...I used to come her for lunch and/or dinner whenever I was in town for business. People told me to go to Thai Orchid, but I said "No", I like the place by the Hilton. I guess I should have listened to the negative reviews and the recommendations of others. .
Ambiance: This place is the same, but really loud. There was only one other group in the restaurant at the time I came in. They were talking in normal voices, but their voices just carried. Should consider headphones next time (Not). Cramp dining room. Feel like you are on top of each other, even though there was only one group in the room. Tables did not seem to be wiped down well. Could see a residue.
Food/Service: Bland and flavorless. The Tiger steak tasted like it was boiled and then seared. No flavor or seasoning, other than some chili sauce. The steak was gray! I wanted a steak, this was not the place for that. I asked if I needed to order a full order of fried rice. The hostess said they could do a half order. About 10 minutes later, she comes back and says they do not do half orders...what? Does she not know what they serve and how its served. She did not seem interested in offering me alternatives. I had to ask if my steak came with steamed rice; she said she thought so? I ended up ordering wings. Wing were OK, but nothing special or reminded me of a Thai experience. Just regular fried wings with a sweet chili dipping sauce. I ordered a Sapporo. Nothing special there. While I was still eating, she asked if she bring me the check. I said I was not done. She then asked if she could take my plates...even though I was still eating with more than half my food left. She also asked if she could bring me my check...I was still eating. I ended up ordering another beer, even though she was trying to have me leave. When she brought my check, she took my water...that I was still planning to drink, but I figured I would give something, so that she could let me finish.
Overall experience: Seriously disappointed in how this place gone down hill. Food is nothing to rave about, service is poor and not well trained on general restaurant service. Noisy and cramped.
Will not return, even though I visit to Vancouver and...
