I... was not impressed.
Let me be clear: There isn't really much inherently bad about this hotel. In fact, the staff themselves are wonderful folks. The staff were the best part of the expirience by far. But when I go to a place that's this expensive a night, I expect more than just alright. I expect the expirience to be superior.
My friend and I shared a single-bed room due to the prices, and it still cost extra for a cot. There's no continental breakfast and the prices for even a cup of tea in the cafe are atrocious. The television gets only basic cable and charges for anything else. The wifi did not want to connect to my handheld device.
I don't know about you guys, but when I pay more to stay at a hotel, I expect more, and I don't mean more expenses. All the Hilton really offers is the illusion of luxury; the style without the substance.
...Actually, there was one thing about the hotel that was flat out bad, and it was the pool area. The pool was clean and all, but every little noise in that tiny room echoes like crazy. One family playing a chatting a bit was enough that I didn't stay very long.
Again though, I can't say enough positive about the staff themselves. I was there for an anime convention, and everyone from guest services to the greeters to the folks at the cafe embraced every one of us and respected us, even if we were all dressed like...
Read moreReserved a King bed Balconoy view room for one night. Check-in was easy and quick. Had to pay for parking at 29 bucks for one night. The parking was TIGHT! As in, if you are driving something other than a mini cruiser, you better be comfortable with close in maneuvering. The elevators will be close at least! But then about them elevators. You have to take the first one to the floor above the lobby. Then you have to walk down to the opposite end of the hotel and take a second elevator to your room floor. Not convenient at all. For that matter it's a huge pain in the a**. The hotel isn't that big to warrant engineering like this. Now, the rooms. There's plenty of space, but the space is not designed very well. The TV sits right next to the side of the bed. So if you want to lay in bed you'll end up with a sore neck trying to watch it. The AC only goes down to 65 and makes a low droning sound the entire time. Over and over and over.... The furniture is dated and needs to be updated, although it did function fine. The refrigerator is way too small to be useful for anything other than small bottle of water or whatever. The bed is fine. I've slept in better, but fir one night it's fine. So big picture if you're here for one night it will work. Don't expect anything great, it's just functional, sort of. Picture is looking at TV...
Read moreHow is this hotel a 4-star hotel? I've stayed here 3 times the last few months and every time this place has been a disappointment. The agents who book your room are extremely friendly but once you arrive, the front desk staff don't make you feel very welcome - they barely make eye contact, often snarky, and not customer-service oriented, especially the women staff, I hate to say. The rooms themselves are extremely small. The ceilings should be taller. I am a 5'3" woman but still feel cramped in their tiny showers. They also give you cheap shampoo and bath amenities. You'd think a 4 star hotel would at least use better shampoo and conditioner. During my last stay, there were smudges and stains all over the coffee maker so we had to ask for a new one. So much for "sanitizing and cleaning frequently". I was disgusted. Our AC also wasn't working correctly so we had to call maintenance but at least he fixed it immediately. There shouldn't even be these issues in the first place at a 4-star hotel. Definitely bring your own pillows because the pillows here deflate so quickly; I woke up with my neck kinked. The bed has decent firmness, at least. I've stayed at 2-star inns that were cleaner and friendlier than this establishment. Good parking lot but a...
