Don’t listen to the bad reviews. I’ve been going to eat there At least once or twice a month for years. My suggestion is as you go in and eat there. It’s small, but it’s worth it. They are known for their chicken teriyaki and beef teriyaki, which is very good. I don’t know if they’re known for the ribs because I’m not silly enough to Order ribs because I am smart enough to know I need to go to A place that specializes in barbecue ribs. I’m going there for teriyaki chicken and teriyaki beef. They hit that out of the park and bring you a nice large Plate with a good amount of chicken or beef with fresh salad with that really good tasting Asian dressing, and two balls Of rice and a Free egg drop soup which is very good. All I can say is, don’t listen to the negative reviews. I have never been disappointed there and I always walk out very full and satisfied. Everyone there is intensely nice and no one’s trying to take you a ride for what you pay. I’ve never ordered takeout, but I’m sure the quality of the beef and chicken is still the same, but I can’t address the takeout because I never done that. I like eating in the restaurant because the atmosphere is relaxed even though it...
Read moreIf I could give them zero or below, I would. Between two adults and a child and a half, we just spent over $50 knowing we would be packing our leftover to go. There is free soup for those eating in the lobby. The soup is 90% water, 8% cornstarch, and maybe two to three eggs for the whole pot. When you scooped out soup, it was mostly liquid, maybe 3 chunks of vegetables, and as I said, two to three eggs for the whole pot. The owner (male) stated to my husband that this would be his last bowl of soup, he should think about the other patrons. The pot of soup was full and we were the only people eating the soup. No one else in the lobby had any. Between the last bowl he grabbed and mine, it was four bowls of egg flower soup. Before we even moved away from the table, the owners told the hostess/waitress/cashier that she needed to sweep up the floor (from the baby- I've seen worse messes) and they proceeded to clean-up. Never returning! I ADVISE YOU DO NOT GO THERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GIVE MONEY FOR PEOPLE TO MISTREAT YOU!...
Read moreI spent $34 on two takeout meals. T1 - teriyaki chicken ($15.39), and C13 - Katsu and Chicken ($16.49). Both came with a salad but no veggies came with either of my combination, which was a bit disappointing because it usually comes with broccoli and steamed cabbage in a combination order.
Overall, Ichi is an overpriced restaurant that serves you overcooked chicken thighs and rice. Before covid, Ichi's would be an ideal spot to grab lunch/dinner without breaking the bank. Now they expect a tip on to-go orders after charging an arm-and-leg for a plate of rice and chicken thighs.
Great service from the gal working the counter but I can't justify spending over $30 here for two mediocre - small portioned - overcooked chicken, and rice dinner.
Spend your money elsewhere that isn't a franchise. I absolutely love "Oh My Teriyaki" better pricing, portions...
