The service was pleasant, but they are definitely not the store that used to be at this location. I have been running for thirteen years now, and started thinking that my tried and true shoes were no longer giving me proper support, or the models have changed enough over time to be the right shoe for me, so I dropped into Fleet Feet to have my gait/stride analyzed and to have a new shoe recommended. For what it's worth, a long time ago, I was told by a Dr. and another running store in southern California that I needed a motion control shoe for mild-moderate overpronation and have been very happy with my Saucony Omnis. The Fleet Feet salesperson told me that I was using the entirely wrong shoe and that I needed not only a neutral shoe, but also their expensive insoles. Being open-minded and wanting to correct the issues I've been having, I took his advice, bought both the shoe and insole. So far, I've put 130 miles on them and have never had more leg pain in my life. I now have sever posterior shin splints after every run in these shoes. The discomfort started early, but I also could tell I was working muscles differently and I wrote it off as the change in my step meant I was working certain muscles more than before and focused on strengthening them. I didn't return them initially because I wanted to give my body an honest chance to adapt and the shin pain didn't start right away. Over the course of about 10 weeks, the pain became more and more extreme and I've been forced to run less and spend more time in recovery. Now, I can wear my work boots, my old sketcher kicks, my Romeos, and even my old running shoes, but if I put on the shoes this person insisted was the correct shoe (and insole) I get nothing but pain. I've put way to many miles on them and they have been dirtied too much to return them, but I have come to the conclusion that the salesperson just wanted to get as much money out of me as possible by having me buy a complete new setup and didn't know what he was talking about. Sadly, they got a couple hundred dollars out of me once and I won't be back. I could have returned every three months for a new pair of shoes and spent much more money over time if they would have just taken care of me the way the old shop would have. The only reason I'm giving them an extra star is because the staff were friendly and seemed professional and spent a great deal of time with me... even though I now feel that he really just...
Read moreYay... we got our feet and walking gait scanned today. My wife was getting new running shoes and while were there, my son & I took advantage of the service the store offers. Afterwards, we then got a free consultation about how we walk and step in our everyday low-stress (walking) gait.
In that conversation and with the "Fleet Feet" consultant/specialist, Sara, my son mentioned that sometimes his arch feels "stretched". Being that he has a high arch, she mentioned that he may be prone to plantar fasciitis. She said that not is really needed right now, as there is no sign of any chronic — or even acute — pain, however, if caught early, plantar fasciitis can largely be prevented by a simple, properly fitted insert. This is less like a chiropractor directed insert (e.g. a medical style), and more like a Dr. Scholls-style insert that replaces the insert that comes with the shoes. I got some for my shoes, but my son held off.
It was clear that Sara was focused on helping us and was not simply trying to sell us anything.
Surprisingly, my son & I have very different gaits and he has a significant arch, whereas, I have very flat feet (virtually no arch at all). I got some and my feet & walk feel really natural and good.
Sara was AWESOME!! She set out three to step into and I chose the most comfortable. She did the same with my son, but he opted to not have them yet.
I cannot say enough great things about Sara. Her style was helpful, caring, accommodating and perfect for my neurodivergent son....
Read moreI just had the 'best' experience at Fit Right! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a female sales person who was busy with someone else, but listened to what I needed and said she would help me as soon as possible. Literally seconds later Nick came over and asked how he could help. I am a walker, nothing special, just a run of the mill stay at home mom who walks a lot. I was treated with exceptional customer care. Nick looked at how I walked and explained exactly what was happening with my feet and why I was in pain. He took a LOT of time explaining how I was walking and what was wrong and how I should be walking. He went through several pairs of shoes and he watched me walking in each pair. After thirty minutes of trying on shoes we found the perfect pair, I could feel the difference immediately. Nick obviously knows what he's talking about, the information and advice I received was awesome. He was very enthusiastic about what he was doing and obviously likes helping people. What's great, is that with every $200 you spend, you get $20 in store credit. They have an excellent return policy. I'm just sorry I didn't go a year ago when my doctor suggested! I would highly...
