I'm going to take a guess and say that the asian couple that used to own KC teriyaki either retired. Or sold the business. First of all, the name of this place is different. It used to be just KC teriyaki. Now it is KC sushi and teriyaki. I placed my order online. Then I went to go pick it up. When I walked into the restaurant, I immediately noticed the wall decorations were different. There used to be some handwritten signs praising god. I believe it was a bible verse every day. Well, that's not there anymore. I'm not a religious person, so I don't miss it. But there were other handwritten signs as well that are no longer there. There used to be a pot of soup on the table. You can grab a small bowl and have some while you're waiting for your order. That's not there anymore, either. The menu here is a little different than it was a year ago. For starters, they now have sushi. Kirkland, (costco) sushi to be exact. If sushi is not fresh, then I don't want it. And I guess I should have known that kirkland sushi was pre made at costco. I ordered one sunrise roll.($13.95) Sushi rice does not interact well with cardboard. So by the time I got home, my sunrise roll was stuck to the bottom of the cardboard box that it was placed in. Maybe a small piece of wax paper would help in the future. As far as the taste was concerned, it tasted like any store bought sushi. It could have been from fred meyer or winco. I'm not a fan. But I struggled through a few pieces before I gave up. Please make sushi fresh, or go back to your old menu. The appetizer platter looked legit! ($14.95)  Everything on the appetizer platter was frozen, then cooked to order. Maybe they could have left the tempura shrimp in the fryer a little longer. But it all tasted ok, and it was filling. It came with 4 small egg rolls. 4 tempura shrimp. And 4 gyoza, on a bed of shredded cabbage. All this really needed was a cup of rice (and some sauce), and it could have been a meal. I also received a cup of some beef flavored asian inspired soup. I'm not sure if this was part of the appetizer platter or the entree. It doesn't really seem to go with any part of this meal at all. Originally, I thought maybe it's a teriyaki dipping sauce or something. But no, it's just kind of a standalone item that doesn't really fit with any portion of this meal. Maybe they put it in my bag by mistake. And speaking of dipping sauce, I got none. The main course of teriyaki chicken with rice looks different today than it looked the last time I ordered teriyaki chicken from this restaurant. ($12.00) And yes, it tastes different also. You used to get a separate bowl with your salad inside. Two scoops of rice. And your teriyaki chicken with sauce drizzled on top. Now you get one scoop of rice. Your teriyaki chicken without sauce. And your salad is in the same container with these two hot items. Less rice and salad. And relatively the same amount of chicken. The chicken has just a hint of teriyaki flavor. Like was marinated in teriyaki and then grilled. Having additional sauce would have pushed this meal up a few points. The rice was ok. And I ate the salad immediately after taking photos. It was already kind of warm and I don't like cooked salad. The dressing they use is not as good as the stuff they used to use. I wonder if they buy it at costco too. In fairness for this review, it's been about a year and a half since I've eaten here. But I used to eat here at least twice a month. Also I ordered my food online at 7:30 PM. And they close at 8 PM on Sundays. My food was ready about five minutes...

We had a disappointing experience at KC Teriyaki, and I feel compelled to share my negative encounter. My husband went to the establishment to pick up dinner for 5 people and we were hoping for a pleasant meal. Unfortunately, the older Asian gentleman who appears to be the cook had a completely unnecessary outburst that left us both shocked.

As my husband was carefully perusing the menu, trying to decide on our order, the older gentleman unreasonably began yelling at him, insisting that he either place an order or leave. It was in the middle of the day like 3pm. This unwarranted aggression was not only unprofessional but completely uncalled for. Customers should be able to take their time deciding without fear of being berated.

Despite this rude treatment, my husband decided to proceed with an order, purchasing a substantial amount of food totaling $57. However, when it came time to tip, he chose not to do so. Frankly, the staff at KC Teriyaki did not earn a tip at all, given the atrocious manner in which they treated my husband. Respect and courtesy are fundamental in the service industry, and sadly, KC Teriyaki failed miserably in this regard.

Due to this unpleasant experience, we have decided that we will not be returning to KC Teriyaki. No amount of food can compensate for the disrespectful behavior we encountered. We believe in supporting businesses that value their customers and treat them with dignity. Regrettably, KC Teriyaki fell far short of meeting these basic standards. Save yourself the frustration and look for a more customer-friendly...

I wish I could give this more stars and the 100s of other times we've been here over the last 5years I would have given 5 stars but today was completely unacceptable and not to be taken lightly. I have a 7 yr old son, autism and hearing impaired.. he was excited to come to the restaurant...his favorite.. he's stimming.. jumping ,clapping and has a very high pitch squeel.. I calm him down a little, he's super happy. 1 table of customers in restaurant, they leave. He stimms more, I let him continue.. we are the only customers in restaurant, he's happy as opposed to what he has been, no harm no foul. Cook comes stomping from kitchen tells my son to be quiet please. Ok, I tell her he can't he has this and this. So, I look around again to confirm, we were the only ones and YES empty restaurant.. ok, now I'm mad. She comes all the way from kitchen, with loud appliances, loud sink..and you want to tell my child to be quiet for what?.. if he was bothering other patrons, I would correct him..but we WERE ALONE and THEY WERE IN KITCHEN. AND WE WERE WAITING FOREVER FOR OUR FOOD !! Unfortunately, they have lost a literally lifelong customer.. my son had his first yakisoba noodles there, he has been coming there since he has eaten solid food.! I truly hope that other children don't bother them as much as my special needs child does.. very...

One of the few restaurants that stayed open in Vancouver during the height of the Pacific Northwest's unexpected heatwave, and I admire them for doing so. Super hungry after work, I was driving around looking for somewhere good to eat, and came across this restaurant. I had tried them once before and they left a pretty good impression on me with their beef teriyaki, which was a hearty serving. Today I ordered the spicy beef, which had a strongly-favored Asian sauce on it and vegetables which complimented the flavor. While it was very good, it doesn't stand out to me compared to a lot of Japanese restaurants, but it was still tasty. The interior of the restaurant is pretty clean. The service I received was pretty friendly and the employees are eager to (and seem to prefer to) bring you the food to your car after you order for takeout. If you don't call in your order beforehand, it does take a while.

I haven't been here for a long time, it used to be KC Teriyaki and now it's KC Sushi & Teriyaki. My husband wanted to get sushi and we were close by, after doing a Google search we decided to go. The sushi was fresh, large rolls, no skimping on ingredients to cut costs. The service was fantastic and everything we ordered was delicious. This isn't a carousel sushi restaurant so you have to order everything. We ordered thr amount we would get at a normal restaurant and because the rolls were so big we had so much extra to go. This is the best problem we could ever have 😁! If you want fantastic sushi, massive rolls that actually give you a ton of fish, shrimp and other sushi goodness and normal prices, go here! This place immediately became our #1 spot for 🍣. We don't want to go anywhere else!
