Ixtapa Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Veneta

The food was very good and well priced, but this is what I want you to know about my experience. About half way through our meal I noticed an elderly gentleman. He was dining with his beautiful bride of probably 50 years give or take.

The man had stood up and was bending over in an attempt to pick up his cane which was lying on the floor. When all of a sudden a young man that was a restaurant employee ran over, picked up the man's cane and handed it to before the man had a chance to bend over.

The smile on the elderly gentleman's face and his gratitude made me realize that there is still good people out there. I looked at my wife and asked her if she just saw what I saw and she said yes. There may have only been the four of us that witnessed this kind act, I just felt the need to share it with the rest of you.

Worst service ever. Our bartender was unprofessional and made comments directly to my face on how look. I have never experienced service that bad my entire life. He also didnt not want to give us menus after we asked. He then disappeard for 15 min, then made our drinks with no alcohol ( we watched while he did it since hes behavior was very odd) . Based on that whole strange experience I wouldn't even give this place one star. I feel on if he was mistreating us because of our race because people came in after us who were Caucasian and he was completely different and attentive. Please do not go to this place. We love to eat here. We make sure our family gets together for a family gathering at least twice a month. My husband and I also love coming here for our date night. Very well priced. 2 people can have a really generous dinner for the same price as 3 going to McDonald's. They even have a birthday greeting for someone with a birthday dinner. They bring out a special dessert and a sombrero To take their picture in. The staff ,especially Jose.. he is so sweet and is so friendly and we visit enough now that they know us by name.😉😁best place to eat in Veneta, and a nice bar too, that is separate from the restaurant so kids can be here.
