Updated: The food is still DELICIOUS and the servers are EXCELLENT but we have had several slightly upsetting experiences with seating. It only happens when we come with a group larger than four. The seating for these groups is limited which I do understand. But, they always make you stand outside. This past week was cold so it was not very pleasant. In the past, if customers were seated outdoors (warmer weather) they make you stand off to the side almost in the parking lot. Again, I understand that the customer should have a pleasant meal and not have us hovering over them while we wait. It's just the attitude that is presented...a little rude. I've never complained before but this time it was bad. While we waited 3 other groups of 4 were immediately seated while we waited. More upsetting was the fact that two men were allowed to wait INSIDE the restaurant while the 5 of us were stuck outside. One of us is in a chest brace due to an accident and honestly we were all chilly. So, three of us went inside and asked could we please come inside and stand out of the way close to the door. We did but it was not received well. The other two people in our group stood outside WHILE THE TWO MEN WERE NEVER ASKED TO WAIT OUTSIDE. That is NOT RIGHT! And yes there was a bit of flirtation going on, giggling etc. Fortunately we were seated before the men or else I might have suggested we go elsewhere. I really think the seating issue should be resolved, especially since you do not have reservations. By the way, we checked your App before we came so we thought we wouldn't have to wait very long. If you hadn't seated those other groups before us we would not have had to wait so long outside.
Always an excellent meal no matter what you order! The menu has inventive yummy choices. Great service by a very...
Read moreMy wife and I ate at the Blu Island Bistro in April 2025. A location that my wife worked at 30 years prior when it was a different restaurant. We went in sat down and we're promptly greeted by our server. After we looked through the menu, we I decided to order the Whiskey Bourbon Benedict for $16.50 and my wife ordered the Steak and eggs for $16.50 both of which seemed a little overpriced but we still decided to eat there. My Benedict tasted pretty good even though the pork belly bacon was a little overcooked, making it hard to cut. My wife's steak was a little underwhelming, and still gray and little overcooked. We commented to ourselves that it was a new menu item and they still needed to practice a little bit more. We ate and got and paid our bill, noticing that they charged us $2.00 more for the Whiskey Bourbon Benedict and $1.00 more for the Steak and eggs. They never told us or was there a sign or a note on the menu of the price increase. We paid the bill and left without complaining. After thinking about it I felt compelled to write this review to let other diners know what we experienced. That being said, we most likely not be returning
We appreciate the reply and can understand the increased prices due to egg cost. The reason we were not aware of the sign on your entrance door was while we were walking up from our vehicle. The gentleman that runs your food to the customers was just propping open the door, making it impossible for anyone...

My friend Kathy and I met here for lunch today and while the place was not busy inside (outside it looked like quite the party going on), we had to wait and wait and wait to finally get some attention from our waitress Jessica. In all the years that I have been going out daily for lunch, she must be the WORST server I have ever come across. Food was indeed quite good, I had ordered the CRAB/ASPARAGUS/EGGS BENEDICT on an ENGLISH MUFFIN with a side of FRESH FRUIT and as I mentioned I enjoyed that very, very much. Kathy wanted just a smaller meal and settled for a CUP OF SOUP (today was CHILI) and 1/2 CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICH. She savored every bite.
My complaint is solely with the server. We had requested a refill on our coffee and eventually Kathy got up and helped herself because Jessica was nowhere to be found. The owner brought our food and as I said, that was great.
Eventually Jessica came out with 2 cups of coffee, which of course by then were no longer needed. We requested a box for my leftovers and she disappeared but did not return. Again, Kathy got up and found boxes to go stored nearby and gave me one.
When the bills came, Jessica duly pointed to where we could add her tip, and was even surprised when I said my tip was going to my friend Kathy, who did all the extra running. Jessica was not amused. I certainly hope that management can find better help, because this was totally...
