Farfelu Wine & Cheese Cafe — Restaurant in Venice

The wine bar previously known as Casey Key Wine Collector is now operating under new ownership and is named Farfelu Wine & Cheese Bar. Carmel Stephano is the name of the new owner. She plans no immediate changes other than to retain the only employee, David, take the cheese and charcuterie offerings to another level, add some small plate menu items, and, of course, expand the hours! We are so glad that David is staying on to pour the wines. He is exceptionally nice and quite knowledgeable about the wines they serve. The charcuterie board we ordered was generous, interesting, and paired wonderfully with the wines we chose. The atmosphere is welcoming, the other guests were friendly and sociable, and we very much enjoyed our time there. Having moved to Venice from the Wine Country of the Willamette Valley, we have struggled to find an authentic Wine Bar that serves quality wines in a refined atmosphere. This place is the real deal! We will be regulars. If you see us in there when you stop by, be sure to say hello....

Farfelu is a wonderful and cozy little wine bar near downtown Venice. The customers are very friendly, and the owner, Carmel, welcome everyone warmly.

They have a great selection of wines all the time. Their special events are fun. And their charcuterie boards are not to be missed. You can certainly make a meal out of one of those, and a delicious meal at that.

In addition, of course, you can buy many many types of wine at the store. This place is definitely worth a visit, and if you’re driving by and see the sign that says “wine bar open” then I suggest...

This is a FANTASTIC local spot in Venice. Their atmosphere is perfect for a quiet moment, or catching up with friends. I'm not going to pretend to know a lot about wine, but she had some things that even a newbie like me enjoys! Best of all she supports local causes/non-profits by helping them host fundraising events. I helped out at one for a brief time and couldn't believe how she managed to keep the whole place running and having fun with minimal help from non-pros like myself! A fantastic place you should definitely frequent....
