Obee's Soup-Salad-Subs — Restaurant in Venice

This was my first time in an Obee's. I wasn't sure if this particular one located on Venice Island was even open as it appeared from the outside to be closed. I tried the door, and it was open, so I walked in. Once inside, the atmosphere wasn't very exciting. It seemed like it wasn't sure what it wanted to be, a bare-bones sit-down eatery or something else. The online ordering lists chili, but when I tried to order it, I was told the online ordering isn't up to date and they don't offer chili and never have, maybe other Obee's did... huh? The link I used is tied to this physical location, so I'm not sure I buy that explanation. Anyway, the Italian sandwiches I got were to go, and it was okay, not great but passable. The point is that I don't have much faith in a place that doesn't even care about it's online ordering even when brought to their attention, and if they don't care about that, what else do they not care about. Another one of my favorite places for a steak & cheese sub. Very reasonable prices and never "skimpy" on condiments when requesting extra. They specifically make sure the meat is hot and the cheese has a chance to melt. The tables are always clean as they are busy throughout lunch. I rarely order for delivery but I heard that is exceptional as well. The owner, Tim, tries to interact with the customers to make sure their experience is spot on. They have many selections to choose from, but I am locked into this one even though the "Gut Buster" is a close 2nd. You never have an empty stomach without a smile...

Drove by and decided to stop in for lunch. Asked for a recommendation and received several which was great. I tried the gutbuster (recommended) and it was delicious! The cheese and meat is sliced to order, the bread was soft, fresh, and not too thick, and all of the toppings were great! Snagged a brownie before paying and it too was excellent. While sitting and eating, about a dozen people walked in over a 1 minute span, they were all in and out quickly.
