I witnessed a teenage girl hurt herself while fixing someone something and she already had a few bandaids on her fingers, and she went in the back for a min to collect herself and when she came out i noticed she had been crying, her boss came out to help the customers but i noticed he was scolding her around and was beeing mean to her. She sent her away to clean stuff up, and i could see that this teen girl was in pain and also was embarrassed by the way she was being treated, she kept her composure and still tried her best to work. No one should be treated that way, the boss or manager or owner should respect these teenagers for working hard and trying to take care of 20-30 customers while the boss is in the back. Everytime i came in there, i always see different teenagers working there, that tells me a lot as a customer. Those kids quit because they are mistreated! If you are the owner or the manager there, treat your workers better! They deserve better! I almost said something to the manager or who ever he was because he mistreted her in front of the customers. She was clearly in pain and also embarrast by her boss. She should have clocked out and gone home, i give her credit for taking that treatment and still staying. Wasnt a good sight and i hope they read this message and start treating those kids better! They deserve better! They put on a smile even if they are mistreated! I even asked if she was okay and she was trying to smile and said she was okay! Buy she shouldnt be working in that kind of environment. If the boss or owner reads this, make sure you give them some respect because they work...
Read moreBeyond the tasty ice cream, the excellent location and the fantasitcally nice and accomodating staff, this place is allergy-friendly! Our daughter has an egg and peanut allergy that makes casually dipping into a local ice cream shop (or any restaurant for that matter) a near impossiblity. However, the staff and management at Venice Avenue Creamery walked us through all their ingredients (all ice cream is made in-house, and is EGG FREE), and even brought out boxes for us to read the ingredients. Even further, when we orded for our daughter with allergies, they went into the back and scooped from the uncontaminated/unopened ice cream containers with a new, unused ice cream scoop. Eliminating the remote possibility of cross-contamination.
To be able to drop into an ice cream shop as a family of five is something extremely rare and special. And thanks to the fine folks at Venice Avenue Creamery, we were able to make it a special part of our vacation ......
Read moreWe found this little GEM of a ice cream shop and the ice cream is phenomenal….but, with a very small exception, they seem to have hired staff with zero personality and poor service personnel.
As a prior small business owner, similar in nature business, I would have a serious conversation with my staff member when they serve my customers with such “blah” that its a turnoff as a customer.
No smiles, no “welcome to”, no suggestions, no nothing, just a blank stare at you until you order, then nothing but, “your total is”
This is not a one time observation, its at least eight times by myself and wife, all differing times of service hours.
They can do better with training for sure.
Besides that, it is a 5 star...
